Climb, Soar and Play at Keewaydin Park in Minneapolis
Keewaydin Park in Minneapolis opened this summer, and has been a hit with families for its various play areas for all interests.
We visited and it was amazing!
Keewaydin Park is located in South Minneapolis near Lake Nokomis, just a few minutes away from another unique park, Bossen Field Park.
Keewaydin has a recreation center, wading pool, and now a large play area with multiple options for multiple ages. According to the park’s master plan, it is designed for three types of play:
- a smaller traditional play area in the center
- a nature play area to the east made up of a vertical climbing/bouldering
- an adventure play zone to the east with a vertical climbing/bouldering wall and zipline
The bouldering wall is the Minneapolis park system’s first bouldering structure.
