Madison’s Place opened in Woodbury in 2016 as the Twin Cities East Metro’s first completely handicapped accessible “inclusive” playground, My kids and I visited shortly after it opened and loved it, and I love what a gem it has been in the community.
Madison’s Place is located by M Health Fairview Sports Center in Woodbury, MN. It was built in memory of Madison Claire Millington, a baby girl with Spinal Muscular Atrophy who died in 2004 at the age of 2. Her mother Dana created a foundation to raise the funds to build this playground for all kids including those with disabilities.
The playground has play equipment with shades (great on sunny days!), swings, ramps for wheelchairs, and lots to interact with.
A favorite here is the tunnel with cutout stars that reflect lights all over the tunnel. My kids spent a lot of time in here!
On hot days, the splash pad is a hit with many things that spray water like “flowers,” and buckets that dump water on you.
Location:
The playground is located at 4125 Radio Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125.
