Have you been to Bossen Field Park in Minneapolis? It’s a fun park with a unique playground, ninja obstacle course, wading pool and more.
We visited there on a park hopping outing, as there are many other parks nearby (including the new Assembly Union Park in St. Paul).
Bossen Field Park is located close to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, so there are planes that fly overhead every few minutes. (If your child loves planes, bring him/her here!)
But it’s worth a visit for both young and older kids alike!
Right away you’ll see these climbing structures that look like a bunch of molecules together (I don’t know what else to compare them to – maybe a robot?).
I looked them up and they’re called BLOQX:
The BLOQX™ play system is one part playground rock wall, one part art structure, and all parts irresistible to older children. Hand holds scattered across a geometric shape, this modern take on playground climbing wall panels challenges and impresses the crowd most difficult to WOW on the playground: the teens and tweens.
There is also play equipment for younger kids, and for older kids.
It has swings and some inclusive equipment.
And there’s a ninja-like obstacle course! If you have a climbing kid, they’ll love this place. It’s just challenging enough for older ages. There’s even exercise equipment designed for adults.
Note that the park does not have tree coverage so it can get hot if it’s a hot sunny day.
There are picnic tables under trees nearby though.
Overall it’s a playground all ages will enjoy.
It also has a wading pool, but we visited in the fall so it was too chilly for it to be open.
Bossen Field Park was updated in 2017 and it’s in good shape, so if you’re out exploring and want to try a new unique park, consider here!
