Exploring the Doc McStuffins Exhibit at the Minnesota Children’s Museum

About the Doc McStuffins Exhibit

The exhibit opened on January 16th and is there through May 9th, 2021.

We visited the museum this weekend and checked it out!

Because of the COVID pandemic, the museum closed for a while, then opened up, then closed again, and is now open again – and there is every possible COVID precaution in place.

To keep people spaced apart, you have to reserve your tickets online in advance. Masks are required, and there are many hand sanitizer and cleaning stations throughout the museum. 

I will say that it felt so empty when we were there, but that was a GOOD thing. There were no crowds or worries about being too close to anyone. There was plenty of space for everyone. And the staff were cleaning up the place after people in each area, so I felt good about my kids touching blocks and exhibits.

We stopped at the cafe for beverages (yes the cafe is open), and played with giant LEGO-like blocks in Creativity Jam.

Then we checked out Imaginopolis, which had cool space props to play with.

There were interactive games throughout like Twister!

What’s the movie about?

The Croods have survived their fair share of dangers and disasters, but now that the pack has managed to navigate the end of the world, they will face their biggest challenge of all: another family.  The Croods need a new place to live. So, the first prehistoric family sets off into the world in search of a safer place to call home. When they discover an idyllic walled-in paradise that meets all their needs, they think their problems are solved – except for one thing. Another family already lives there: the Bettermans.

The Bettermans (emphasis on the “better”) with their elaborate tree house, amazing inventions and irrigated acres of fresh produce, are a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. When the Bettermans temporarily invite the Croods into their home filled with creature comforts, it isn’t long before tensions escalate between this cave family and a modern one.  Just when all seems lost, a new threat will propel both families on an epic adventure outside the safety of the wall, one that will force them to embrace their differences, draw strength from each other and forge a future together.

Sever’s New & Expanded Corn Maze & Fall Festival 2019 (& a Ticket Giveaway!)

It’s September, and that means Sever’s Fall Festival & Corn Maze is opening! And I’m excited to be partnering with them to give away 4 free tickets!

Sever’s is located in Shakopee, and they’re open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 13th through November 3rd.

And Sever’s has exciting announcements for the 2019 season! First, Sever’s has a new, permanent home in Shakopee at 3121 West 150th Street – and it’s three times the size of its previous spot!

We went to Sever’s last year and had a blast, and can’t wait to see the new location!

With the new location, Severs is paying tribute to the past with the theme of this year’s event: Sever’s Jurassic Adventure!

Why the dinosaur theme?

“The very first Sever’s corn maze design was actually a T-Rex,” says Nicola Peterson with Sever’s. “So, this year’s theme takes us back to our roots and, as with many of our designs, is inspired by our own children.”
