Some places are so good that one visit just isn’t enough—and United Noodles is one of them.
United Noodles is an Asian Market and Grocery Store with locations in Minneapolis and Woodbury. After visiting the Minneapolis location a few months ago with my teens (and immediately calling it a hidden gem), I knew we’d be back. Our second visit confirmed it: this isn’t just a grocery store—it’s a place to explore, discover, and try something new every time you walk in.

It’s a bit tucked away near Hiawatha Avenue and looks like a warehouse when you drive up to it. From the outside, you’d never guess how big this family-owned Asian grocery store is. But inside? It’s aisle after aisle of noodles, sauces, snacks, frozen foods, and ingredients from across Asia and beyond. It’s easy to spend way more time here than you planned—in the best way.
A Go-To Spot for Trying New Foods
What really stands out at United Noodles is the variety. Whether you’re going in with a list or just browsing, there’s always something new to discover.

My teens love coming here for exactly that reason. On our first visit, we grabbed fun treats like Hello Kitty cookies, Korean corn dogs, and different noodles to try at home. On our second trip, we explored even more—and still felt like we had barely scratched the surface.
There’s a huge selection of instant noodles, snacks, and drinks, plus shelves full of pantry staples and spices. If you’re looking for a specific Asian sauce or dry ingredient, this is such a great place to check first—I found fresh sweet potato noodles which I love!

So Much More Than Just Groceries
One thing I really appreciated on our visits was just how much is packed into this one store.
There’s a large frozen section with things like dumplings, fish cakes, and tofu, along with a great selection of fresh vegetables. The variety of sauces alone is impressive—perfect if you’re trying new recipes or restocking your favorites.
They also have a deli, which is always worth a stop. And beyond groceries, there are some fun extras too—like baked goods from third-party vendors and even a small gift shop to browse.
Don’t Skip the Restaurant Inside
Another highlight? The food.
Inside the store, you’ll find Ono Hawaiian Plates Restaurant, which is absolutely worth planning your visit around. The food is delicious and makes the whole experience feel like more than just a grocery run. And the ambience makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii (well, at least a little bit!).

We had barbecue chicken and chicken katsu meals with yummy garlic noodles and macaroni salad.

What About Prices?
On our visits, prices felt fair for the variety and convenience. Being able to find so many different ingredients, snacks, and specialty items all in one place made it feel like a really easy and enjoyable shopping experience.
Don’t get me wrong – you could drop a few hundred dollars here. We spent between $60 and $100 each visit and got a full cart both times.

Why We’ll Keep Going Back
United Noodles has become one of those places we’ll keep coming back to—not just for groceries, but for the experience. It’s fun, unique, and full of things we don’t always find at a typical store.
If you love trying new foods, shopping with your kids or teens, or just want to explore something different, it’s definitely worth a visit.
