Looking for a free, kid-friendly activity this winter in the Twin Cities?
FREE inflatables are BACK at Maplewood Mall!
Thatās right ā Maplewood Mall has set up what theyāre calling āInflataworldā on the main level, and itās completely free for kids to enjoy. They had it last summer and it’s back! It’s a fun opportunity for kids to bounce, climb, and burn off some energy.
(In this post I share my pictures of inflatables from last summer – they are similar this winter.)

This is the perfect option when:
ā
Itās too cold to play outside
ā
You’re in the area anyway for something like Sustainable Safari
ā
You just want a free spot for your kids to let loose
The inflatables are located in a large open area on the main level, easy to find when youāre strolling through the mall.

Important note: There wasnāt any supervision provided by mall staff, so youāll want to keep a close eye on your kiddos while they play. I’ve also heard from some moms that there have been families that seem to use the inflatables as a free drop-off daycare for their kids. I didn’t see issues when I was there but please stay close to your kids!
Whether youāre a frugal parent like me or just looking for a fun indoor spot, Maplewood Mallās Inflataworld is worth checking out. Pack some snacks and let the kids bounce to their heartsā content ā without spending a dime.
You can also plan a day at the mall and visit these other fun attractions that we saw:
FREE rocket ship play area
You’ll find this on the second level near Kohl’s. There were families here playing together. It’s a nice imaginative space.

Giant Carousel
The mall has a double-decker Venetian carousel right in the middle of the main level.

Stuf’d Bear Factory
Similar to Build a Bear, this is located on the second level.

Sustainable Safari
Animals you can interact with! Read our review of our fun visit!
Tickets are only $10 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through February 26th! Read more here and check out their other deals.

Enchanted Film Fantasy Museum
This is a newer attraction at the mall – and they have in-mall specials sometimes for admission so stop by! They have genuine costumes and props from movies. Learn more at their website here.

Twin Cities Slime
This is a popular stop for kids. Fun with slime, plus more including sensory activities. Learn more here.
There’s more too like little trains kids can ride through the mall, a “city” play area for kids with tables you can eat at, and more. It’s a busy mall for sure!
