If you’ve seen a Disney on Ice show before, you know it will be magical. But Disney On Ice’s “Magic in the Stars” show tops them all with special effects, acrobatics, audience interaction, stunts and so much more.
Our family was invited by Disney on Ice to see their “Magic in the Stars” show in Minneapolis and we were wowed – including my teenagers who have seen many Disney on Ice shows growing up.
But my stepson hasn’t seen many of these shows growing up and he absolutely loved it.
“Magic in the Stars” unites a wide collection of Disney stories with something they all have in common – a wish!
Appropriately, it also features the on-ice debut of Asha from Disney’s new musical adventure “Wish.” (I loved her skating during “This Wish” and seeing the star float over the ice and dance in the air!)
This show features 56 different characters – the most Disney characters in a show – and keeps your attention by moving from one story to the next seamlessly. And each show is featured in a fresh, new way.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy take the audience through Disney classics and modern classics, beginning with Jiminy Cricket reminding the audience that magical, fantastic things can happen, and it all starts with a wish.
Frozen 2 is new, and Elsa and Anna sing “Into the Unknown.” Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon debuts live on ice, performing an impressive and strong aerial acro-pole routine.
The Aladdin scene shows Aladdin finding a magic lamp in the Cave of Wonders, meeting the magic carpet, followed by a sequence to “Friend Like Me” as dozens of genies dance while villagers do stunts.
We also meet princesses including Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, and Snow White.
The Madrigal family from Encanto performs “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” Moana sails her canoe on the open ocean where she sings “Know Who You Are,” transforming Te Kā into Te Fiti. Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater from Cars drive onto the ice to “Life Is A Highway.” Even Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Rex, and Hamm show up, battling Zurg’s Nerf Blaster, sending real yellow “balls” into the audience to throw back to him!
From beginning to end, this show will keep you at the edge of your seat, and you’ll leave touched, amazed and singing your favorite Disney tunes.
Thank you to Disney on Ice for this great family experience!
