Veterans Day is a day to honor those who have given so much to our country. Veterans Day 2023 is on Saturday, November 11th and many retailers and restaurants are offering freebies and discounts to Veterans and their families.

Below is the list of Veterans Day Freebies for 2023. Keep in mind that for most you will need to provide proof of your active military or veteran status to take advantage of these deals. Some deals, under “Freebies & Online Deals” are good for anyone!

Stores & Services

Cub – Veterans and active service members will receive 11% off their entire order at every Cub store on 11/11/2023. Just mention to the cashier that you are a Veteran or active service member. Happy Veteran’s Day!

Great Clips – On Saturday, November 11, 2023, veterans and active service members can go into any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit. 

Holiday Stationstores – FREE car wash November 10-12. “We are celebrating Veterans Day today with a FREE car wash for all active and retired military service members. Thank you for your service from all of us at Holiday. Please show Military ID or proof of service to receive one car wash code valid up to 30 days.”

Kohl’s – Active and former military personnel, veterans, and their families will receive 30% off qualifying in-store purchases from Friday, Nov. 10, through Sunday, Nov. 12 (valid military ID is required)

Mike’s Discount Foods (location in Fridley) – All active duty and retired military get 10% off November 11-12. Confirmed for Fridley location. They also have locations in Comfrey, Anoka, Hilltop, Princeton and Braham.

Office Depot & Office Max – From November 11 through November 13, veterans, active duty and retired military personnel, Reservists, and their dependents, can enjoy 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide in honor of Veterans Day. To take advantage of this special discount, shoppers must present this coupon and a valid military ID, military dependent ID or form of veteran ID at the time of purchase. 

Sport Clips – Many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty U.S. service members and veterans on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, with valid proof of service.

Target – Veterans can save 10% at Target from October 29 – November 11 by signing up online for this single-use coupon.

Walgreens – On November 10th through 13th, veterans, military and their families will receive 20% off eligible regular price items in Walgreens stores. This offer is valid in store only.

Attractions and Events (National)

Free Admission to National Parks – Every year on November 11th EVERYONE can get free admission into any National Park nationwide.

Attractions and Events where Veterans get in FREE or discounted (Minnesota)

Minnesota Zoo – Starting November 10 and going until December 10, military personnel and their immediate families will receive 50% off admission.

SeaQuest in Roseville – Free admission for veterans November 11 & 12. Just bring your military ID!

Restaurants:

Many places offers Active Duty Service Members, Guard Members and Veterans a FREE Meal on Veterans Day. Make sure you pass on this information to anyone you know who is a Veteran or Active Duty so they can snag a free meal too! All places require proof of military service, proof of service includes Military ID, Discharge Papers, DD214 and being in uniform. What proof of service required depends on the restaurant.

Applebee’s: Each year, veterans are invited to pick from one of 8 free meals as a Thank you to service members. Plus they’ll also receive a $5 Bounce Back Card for a future visit within a 3-week redemption window. Check with your local Applebee’s this year as different local mandates and guidelines vary.

Chili’s: Is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 4 meal options. Offer only available at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only.

Denny’s: Veterans and military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast on Nov. 10 from 5 a.m.- noon. 

Golden Corral – Veterans get a free “thank you” meal during military appreciation night, which this year is on Monday, November 13th, 2023 from 5:00pm – close. 

Green Mill – Green Mill honors our military on Veterans Day with a discount – just show proof of service. Also save 10% every day. (See details on their website.)

IHOP – Free red, white and blue pancakes on November 11th until 7pm. ID required.

Hy-Vee – Free Breakfast for Veterans and Active-Duty Military on Friday, November 10th from 6:00am – 10:00am. “On Friday, Nov. 10, from 6-10 a.m., we invite veterans and active-duty military members to enjoy a free buffet-style breakfast at Hy-Vee stores.”

Little Caesars® Pizza: Veterans and active duty service members receive a free $5.99 Lunch Combo, which features four slices of Little Caesars popular Detroit-style DEEP!DEEP!™ Dish pizza, paired with a 20-ounce Pepsi product between 11:00am – 2:00pm.

Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11.

Sammy’s Pizza – FREE lunch buffet & soda to all active, inactive & retired military on Friday, November 10th. Lunch buffet is from 11-2. Locations are Coon Rapids and Elk River.

Starbucks – On Nov. 11, Starbucks is honoring those who have served with a FREE tall hot or iced coffee. But not just for service members – THEIR SPOUSES TOO!

TCBY – Veterans and active military receive their first 6 oz free on November 11 with proof of service.

Wendy’s – Sign up for Veterans Advantage for special veterans deals year-round including Veterans Day.
