An arcade. Ax throwing. Amazing meals and drinks. Bowling. Live music. Mini golf. Pickleball. Table games. (Not intentionally in alphabetical order but it worked!)
AND MUCH MORE.
How many places have you been to that have ALL of these in one place? Probably not many if at all, right?
I haven’t been to anything with all of that, until now, and I have to tell you about it.
Our family was invited by the Burrow in Oakdale for a visit and we had a BLAST. (Both literally and figuratively, lol.) The Burrow has something for everyone, from families to couples to groups of all kinds. We had our kids, and there were many kids there, including young kids enjoying the arcade and bowling with their families, adults throwing axes (though kids can do it too as young as 11), and groups playing pickleball. There was live music – a fun bluegrass band – and plenty of tables to sit and eat, drink and enjoy the performance. There was mini golf outside and plenty of space out there to sit and socialize by a fire.
I could go on and on.
We went on a Friday, late in the afternoon, and started with some arcade games. There were tons of them, and plenty that we all wanted to play. My kids loved the virtual reality, plus we played The Price is Right, Skeeball, Super Mario Kart, and various blaster games (thus, of course, we had a blast).
Then we enjoyed a super good dinner. The band was setting up and we ordered a variety of food to share.
The Hen House restaurant has a variety of smoked meats, burgers, pizza, platters, salads, appetizers, and kids meals.
My husband and I ordered the Rib & Chicken Platter, with a half rack of pork ribs, half chicken, coleslaw, fries, cornbread and honey butter. I also got the Hummus and Salmon appetizer, which included veggies, crackers and grilled naan.
We ordered the yummiest drinks – they have a seasonal margarita/slushie flight, which we shared, and my husband got a Cinnamon Old Fashioned and a Maple New York Sour which he absolutely loved.
My kids enjoyed the cheesiest macaroni and cheese, plus a juicy cheeseburger kids meal.
The Bluegrass band was fun and the music filled the place.
There are multiple ax throwing lanes and we played a mean game together. We played the game 21, where you have to reach 21 points before your opponent, and each of us won at least once!
We had both done some ax throwing before and it’s really fun. I tried it in Bismarck and did pretty well, so I was excited to hit some more bullseyes (which I did!).
The Burrow has multiple pickleball courts, which is fun and really becoming popular.
There’s even a small, kid-friendly bowling alley behind the pickleball courts.
Outside is mini golf, which is seasonal.
The Burrow had so many other things we wanted to do but didn’t have time for this visit, such as:
- Laser Tag
- Karaoke
- Ropes Course
- Bingo
- Pull tabs
- Sport simulators
They also have specials including for families:
There are 2 locations – in Oakdale and in Victoria.
We loved our visit and recommend them! There’s plenty to do for all ages here.
Note – on Fridays and Saturdays after 8pm they only allow ages 21 and up, so if you’re bringing your kids be sure to plan accordingly.
