Ahh – Valleyfair is back!
Valleyfair was closed in 2020 due to COVID but it’s BACK this year!
We couldn’t wait to go and were so excited to go to Valleyfair on a weekend in June.
All my life I have had so many memories going to Valleyfair as a kid, teen and now a parent! Growing up in Duluth, it meant road trips to Valleyfair for and even overnight stays in the Twin Cities, and now it’s just an easy drive anytime we want!
We knew it would be a hot day so we packed some water bottles (yes, you can bring in one sealed water bottle – one per guest!), and were super excited to pull into the parking lot!
When we arrived we posed for some pictures and then headed to the left for some of our favorites including the Tilter!
My kids went on the Scrambler while I sat and enjoyed an iced coffee from Caribou Coffee, just around the corner.
We then went on the Antique Cars – a CLASSIC at Valleyfair that’s been around as long as I can remember.
It’s a leisurely drive on Route 76 and through Minnesota! Kids love it because they can drive – they go slow enough and up to 4 can fit in the vehicle.
Nearby is one of the two stations for the Valleyfair train – the Minnesota River Valley Railroad!
Did you know their trains are replicas of the famous 1800’s locomotive known as The General? And that The General was the subject of the Great Locomotive Chase of the American Civil War?
It’s a fun ride around the park and even through a tunnel!
Lunchtime!
Valleyfair has many places to dine and get a treat.
We ate at the Chicken Shack and Mama Chetta’s Pizzeria, which are next to each other. We shared chicken strips and pizza.
Here’s a glimpse at pricing – though you can save on dining with their dining upgrades when you buy/reserve passes!
Now one thing that wows me every time we go to Valleyfair is how successful my kids are at winning games – and AWESOME prizes!
Yes, you can really win prizes here! They have all kinds of carnival games – but our favorites are the Guessing Game and the Prize Wheel, which are near Planet Snoopy, which has tons of fun rides for little ones.
In less than 10 minutes, my kids won FOUR stuffed animals at those two games alone!
It cost me $5 per try (so $20 total) but hey, it was probably the most fun $20 spent here!
Planet Snoopy
Planet Snoopy has 16 rides for kids and families!
One of the rides is the Cosmic Coaster which has great views from up high! Check out all the rides you can see from here!
So we were SO hot when we went – it was such a hot day, so we decided to cool off at The Wave!
This ride is unbelievable – it’s a water flume ride and you DEFINITELY get wet! It feels wonderful though on a steamy hot day in the summertime!
