It’s not everyday I’m invited to a luxury movie theater VIP movie event. Or ANYONE is, for that matter. But last month I was invited to the Grand Re-Opening of the Emagine Willow Creek movie theater in Plymouth, and had the most awesome evening!
Located at 9900 Shelard Parkway, Emagine Willow Creek recently renovated their theaters which included filling them all with luxury recliners (more on that in a moment). To celebrate, they put on an amazing event with ribbon cutting, complimentary food (both a fancy buffet table and unlimited concessions to all guests), a gourmet popcorn station, drinks, and your choice of a movie in any of their theaters. It was also a fundraiser for PACER Center (a fabulous organization for children with disabilities!).
They sure knew how to put on a great, memorable evening!
I attended with a friend and fellow blogger, Sonal from Tumblewalla.com. (Check out her site for great organic clothing for little kids and tips and ideas for play!) We felt SPOILED all evening as we indulged in delicious food and socialized with other bloggers and VIPs.
Some of what we experienced:
They have a full-service bar with wine, beer on tap and cocktail service to your seat on Friday and Saturday nights!
We may have raided the concessions, candy and popcorn more than once…
Their concessions include some out-of-the-ordinary options such as handcrafted pizzas made in stone ovens!
All of the seats in their 12 theaters are luxury charcoal leather power recliners which are so comfortable!
I have never been so comfortable in a movie theater in my whole life.
Sonal and I watched the movie “Hidden Figures,” a stunning movie about three brilliant African-American women at NASA — Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe). The three women serve as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn (Glen Powell) into orbit.
I had no idea these women existed but their stories were so touching and inspiring. I was fighting happy tears at the end! I highly recommend it for all ages.
Regardless of where you are in the Twin Cities, the drive to Emagine Willow Creek in Plymouth is worth it!
