I can’t wait to see the new movie, BAD MOMS! I’ve been hearing about it for months and it finally opens in theatres on Friday, July 29th.
Here’s the synopsis:
IN THEATERS JULY 29
In this new comedy from the writers of The Hangover, Amy has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn and her clique of devoted perfect moms.
Check out this preview!
As a mom, I know I take life too seriously sometimes – but I’m excited about this movie because it addresses all the real stuff in our lives, but the moms break out of their stressed out states to let loose and have fun.
So do you have a “Bad mom moment” to share? I probably have hundreds of them…from putting the kids in front of the TV so I can get a break, or feeding them macaroni & cheese every night for a week (well, that’s what they wanted anyway…).

I realize this is not the worst bad mom moment of all time, but just yesterday, I let my toddler watch “Air Buddies” not kidding you, 5 times. It was basically on repeat. When I finally made her lunch, it was pancakes. I put her down for a nap and made myself a bowl of ice cream, with sprinkles and took a nap myself and then woke up and had a glass of wine. (me, not her!) The kid got no outdoor time and plenty of screen time. Aw. I love my daughter, but I was not on my mommy A-game yesterday. I promised myself I’d be better to her this weekend.
Ha that’s hilarious Nora! I’ve had days like this too – though the ice cream and wine sound totally worth it
My most recent #BadMomMoment was unintentional. We took both our kids to the MN Zoo and thought since they seem to like dinosaurs, we would pay the additional money to go to the special animatronic dinosaur exhibit. Both kids started crying as soon as they saw the first one, but we kept going through and laughed the whole way because we spent extra money to basically torture them! We also made them take a picture with the T-Rex and of course posted it to social media.
Love this, Kieren! You never know if kids will like the things we spend money on for them but you meant well!
As I am due with my second baby TOMORROW, I feel like I have had many bad mom moments with my 2 year old lately! Just being lackadaisical and my response to everything seems to be “mommy is too big to do ______”.
Ha! I remember those days, Megan. You have the best excuse for doing little right now!!! Take care of yourself and congrats. 🙂
I have six sons and sometimes when I get tired and I’m trying to get all the baths done, school stuff, ect. things don’t come out of my mouth right. My #BadMomMoment was that I told one of my son’s to “hurry and go to the bathroom in the tub and to jump in the toilet to your take your bath”. He stopped me and asked me if I was nutty. Everyone had a good laugh.
Haha, Tricia! This is hilarious!
One of the most recent #BadMomMoments for me was that I signed my son up for a fishing camp that was going to be 2 hours of Dad-and-Son fishing with a fishing guide! I made sure to talk about it every day for 2 weeks to get him REALLY excited about the camp. I mis-read the registration and thought it started at 2PM, but it really ENDED at 2PM. ;( My husband caught my mistake with about 20 minutes to spare. They made it to the camp as it was ending, but my son still got his fishing pole that came with the camp. UGH! I felt like the worst! But he wasn’t even fazed by this since his Dad took him out to the pond by our house for some Dad-and-Son fishing time. #BadMom #BestDad 🙂
What a sweet story! It was an innocent mistake! Glad it worked out well in the end!
My #BadMomMoment from tonight: my 4 yr old wanted me to go downstairs with her to get a toy-I was so tired and did not feel like getting off the couch to go-I told her to ask her 2 yr old brother to go instead;) So thankful he said yes!
Aren’t siblings the best? I tell my kids this all the time – ask your brother/sister for help!
My #badmommoment was allowing my daughter to eat mac and cheese for breakfast and watching her iPad for 5 hours straight while slept off a hang over from a moms night out the night before.??
Ha! Funny, Jess!
With three kids, I’ve had more than my fair share of #badmommoments, but the worst is when I sent my 5 YO to bed with two (yes two!) broken bones in his leg and told him it would feel better in the morning. It didn’t.
Oh no – ha! Moms always mean well but don’t always know everything!
I have so many #badmommoments with three kids in 4 years that I can’t keep track. The one that I abuse the most is letting my boys pee in public spaces behind trees. It happens more often than I’d like to admit. But for some reason my kids like to hold it until the absolute last minute despite me asking them to use the potty before we go somewhere. It’s either peed pants or urinating in public. I always pick the latter LOL
Hee hee – when you gotta go you gotta go!
