Though I’ve lived in the Twin Cities for the past 11 years, I had never heard of Q. Cumbers Restaurant in Edina. Then I was invited for lunch and conversation with the owners, Mickey and Sheila, and now I can’t believe I didn’t discover this gem in the Twin Cities sooner!
Q. Cumbers is an award-winning buffet restaurant in Edina with a colorful variety of good-for-you, made from scratch foods. The highlight is their huge salad bar with various lettuces, vegetables, dressings, and salads such as a chicken and broccoli blend which I learned is their most popular (and after I trying it I now know why!)!
There are four varieties of lettuce and a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and toppings. In addition, they have various entrees available which vary by day of the week, and include many vegetarian and gluten-free options.
I filled up my first plate fast from the salad bar! This is the kind of good-for-you, satisfying lunch I need more often – I wish I could eat here every day!
For kids there are fun options like goldfish crackers, an ice cream station with lots of toppings and check out this fun table by the entrance with fun activities for kids.
Desserts are all made in house. I actually got to tour the kitchen and see them not only chopping fresh vegetables and making homemade soup but they had trays full of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies – the kitchen smelled so good!
The buffet costs $11.50 which is reasonable for all the great, hearty choices you get.
Best of all, Mondays are Family Nights, and children 3-12 eat for only $.99 (2 per paying adult; under 3 eat free).
Make a full day outing out of a Q. Cumbers visit by enjoying the adjacent Centennial Lakes Park, which offers 1.5 miles of paved pathways, fountains, water activities including paddleboats and free family entertainment on Thursday evenings throughout the summer!

I’d never heard of it either. This sounds like great event though.
I love Q. Cumbers! I haven’t eaten there in forever. I really need to go back. I would love to hear Kat Perkins live. Her song Fearless is great!
I have never eaten at Q. Cumbers nor heard Kat Perkins live. Both would be fun and Kat Perkins live would be amazing! I love the Twin Cities.
I’ve been wanting to try out Q. Cumbers.
I would love to check this out.
I have never been to Q. Cumbers but I alway like a good buffet.
I love that more healthy buffets are springing up in U.S. cities. Choice without all the poor options!
