I don’t remember the last time I was this excited about a store opening!
Style Encore is a women’s clothing resale shop in Eagan and their GRAND OPENING is this Thursday, May 29th starting at 10:00am and lasting throughout the weekend. It’s located at 1960 Cliff Lake Road, Suite 125. There will be TONS of great giveaways and events that you won’t want to miss.
I was invited to preview the shop before its official grand opening and sell some of my own clothes – for CASH!
Style Encore is owned by the same company that owns Once Upon a Child, Plato’s Closet, Play It Again Sports and Music Go Round. And it works the same way – you can buy used, quality items and sell yours for cash on the spot!
After doing a sweep of my closet and trying on everything I owned that I hadn’t worn in a while (I didn’t realize how much I had until I took it all out!), I found a bunch of clothes to bring in to see how much I could sell.
I visited the store with my 3-year-old and met with Mary who told me about the shop and told me I could get $25 for 7 items I brought in (yay!). Mostly what they bought were name-brand clothes like J. Crew and Eddie Bauer. I had some other clothes in older styles that they couldn’t buy but I was happy to sell what I did!
I toured the shop, which until Thursday is only open for buying, not sales, and had a very hard time not being able to yet buy dozens of stylish, quality items that I fell in love with!
Mind you, I’m frugal, and am typically fine with fashions from the thrift store which are often good, but I was very impressed with the selection and the prices, which are up to 70% off retail. They also had some new items including jewelry and some cosmetics. I will definitely be shopping here!
Check out their website for a LONG list of great grand opening giveaways and events they’re hosting. You can win free gift certificates, or just come in for a free chair massage, and more!
A few things to note:
- Style Encore can buy any seasonal clothing year-round (sweaters in summer, shorts in winter).
- They can’t buy lingerie, even if it’s new. (I had some new Victoria’s Secret lingerie they couldn’t buy.)
- Top items they’re looking to buy are handbags and jewelry.
- They have all sizes – I saw petite through XXL.
- They have sale days throughout the year and you can stay updated by joining their email list or following them on Facebook.
Be sure to check it out!
Clothes Mentor is another similar store in the Twin Cities and St. Cloud where you can sell your women’s items for cash and buy good quality, used, often name brand items at a significant discount.
Thanks, Candice! I didn’t know about Clothes Mentor – sounds like it’s definitely worth checking out, too!
