Who loves coffee? I DO!!!! (Yeah, I know…I’ve said that a FEW times before…)
Well, I’m SUPER excited to host a Caribou Coffee $10 gift card giveaway, especially now as the Christmas/holiday season is underway and as it gets colder and colder outside (it’s freezing out there!).
I love Caribou Coffee, and I especially love that their headquarters are right here in Minneapolis (which means lots of locations in the Twin Cities!). While I’d love to indulge there every day, as a frugal mom I typically go there occasionally for a special treat, especially when I see a great deal posted on the Caribou Coffee Facebook page.
Caribou Coffee shared with me that they’re once again offering their limited-time holiday drinks and sent me a gift card to try them and share what I thought (plus one to give away!), so I thought “Cool!” and took Thor, my 3-year-old, with me to check it out.
I typically prefer mochas over lattes, but the Fa La Latte sounded good so I tried it for the first time. The Fa La Latte is made with creamy eggnog mixed expresso, whipped cream and a dash of nutmeg, and was SUPER good. It had the right amount of creaminess and flavor and the nutmeg blended well with it. I’ll definitely get it again.
Here are pictures I took of my yummy drink:
Here are the other limited-time holiday favorites:
- Hot Spicy Mocha: A rich, zesty mocha made with real chocolate and a kick of ancho and chipotle chilies
- Ho Ho Mint Mocha: Milk, dark or white chocolate mocha with mint syrup, crushed peppermint candy with whipped cream on top (I have also tried this and LOVE it – I love anything with mint and chocolate!)
- Gingerbread: A moist, lightly spiced slice of traditional gingerbread topped with buttercream icing
- Reindeer Blend: A holiday coffee treat with components of spicy ginger, clove and sweet cinnamon
I believe being frugal means looking for quality items that last, not just the cheapest items I can find, so I also want to share that Caribou Coffee has some nice gift items worth checking out if it fits in your budget.
If you’re looking for quality, locally made gift items, Caribou has partnered with Faribault Woolen Mill, a historic mill in Minnesota established in 1865, to provide high-quality merchandise such as coffee sleeves and lodge style throws. Their blankets and woolen products have been around since the frontier movement West and were used by travelers and U.S. troops during war days (can you imagine traveling west and being involved in the war back then in THIS cold?!?!). There are limited quantities at each Caribou location.
Caribou has some other great gift items like gift sets, quirky ornaments, drinkware and more. Many are under $10.
TRY IT
Visit any Caribou Coffee location and check out their selection. You can also shop online, and they currently have a deal: When you buy a $25 eGift card you get a $5 eGift for yourself (note this is online only).
(UPDATE: On Thursday, December 12th, in celebration of Caribou’s 21st birthday, buy one drink get one for 21 cents! ALSO, get 21% off beans and merchandise!)
