This is part 1 of a fun 3-part feature I’m writing about savvy thrift store shopping, featuring SAVERS thrift stores!
Those of you who have read my other posts about thrift store shopping know I’m a huge fan of SAVERS. Well, SAVERS graciously provided me with $100 in gift certificates to shop with a fellow mom and share how many great clothing items we could find. I shared the certificates with Kathy, a busy mom with THREE kids – ages 11, 8 and 1! We both easily filled up our carts with many great deals on clothing for all of our kids. I shopped for Halloween costumes for my kids, ages 4 and 1, which I’ll be detailing in part 2, and Kathy bought some back-to-school and fall/winter clothing which we’ll share here!
Savvy Thrift Store Shopping Fact #1: You can easily fill up your kids’ wardrobes with low-cost, quality used clothing at SAVERS.
Kathy had never been to SAVERS before, but as a very budget-minded mom, she was excited to see what great deals she would find there for her family. She visited the SAVERS store in Columbia Heights, which has been nicely remodeled this past year.
She got 19 (!) items of clothing for only $70 and had a great experience.
“Being a mother of three, it is important that I stretch our dollars as far as I can take them. When it comes to buying clothes for three kids, ages 11, 8 and 10 months I really need to watch my pennies!
Today I had the opportunity to go into the SAVERS store in Columbia Heights and buy clothes for my three kids. I wanted to make sure I got the most for my budgeted money. It was my first time in there and I enjoyed shopping for my three kids. The store is big and well mapped out for each member of the family and for each section of your house.
My focus was on buying back to school clothes for my kids. For my 11-year-old daughter I was able to buy 4 pairs of pants and 4 tops. For my 8-year-old son I found 3 shirts and 4 pairs of pants. For my 10-month-old daughter I bought four pairs of pants. The prices ranged from $.99 to $7.99. These prices were reasonable and the selection of clothes was great! I know my budgeted $ went far when I was in SAVERS. I look forward to going back again. Thank you SAVERS for allowing me to stay on my budget!”
Some of Kathy’s great finds:
Have you started your Halloween shopping yet? In part 2 I share why SAVERS is THE place to get anything HALLOWEEN, and show what you can find including the cute Halloween costumes and accessories I got for my kids with the help of their friendly staff.
Visit their website for locations and more information.
Disclosure statement: I received gift certificates from SAVERS in exchange for writing this feature. The opinions shared here are completely mine and Kathy’s. Originally I planned to write just one feature but because there’s so much to share I decided to write 3!
