Here is my 2021 list of free egg hunts and events!
Note that due to COVID, you have to pre-register for many of these events. Plus, some are not free.
They are filling up and may change so check before you go!

FRIDAY, MARCH 26
Stewart Park Egg Hunt night. 4:30 – 6:30pm. Stewart Park, 2700 12th Ave. S, Minneapolis. Bring your family and join us for a fun evening outside with your friends. Bring a basket to collect eggs, design your own eggs, do some fun arts and crafts, play games and earn prizes. Pre-register. FREE.
SATURDAY, MARCH 27
Free Drive Thru Event. 9:00am – 12:00pm. Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Plymouth. Come join us on March 27th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for a great family adventure as you drive through the Easter Journey! There will be items to search for at each station as well as goodies for your children to pick up at the end!
Rosemount Lions Club Spring Egg Hunt. 9:30am. Ames Soccer Complex, Rosemount. A bunny will be hopping into Rosemount on Saturday, March 27 at 9:30am for last names starting with A-L and 11am for last names starting with M-Z. Lots of eggs and candy will be available for children to hunt for at this traditional Egg Hunt for kids ages 10 and under. This special event is located at the Ames Soccer Complex at Dakota County Technical College.
Cottage Grove Egg Hunt. 10:00am – 11:00am. Woodridge Park, Cottage Grove. 10am, 10:15am, 10:30am, 10:45am. $5 per participant. Collect 10 Eggs = Redeem Prize. Bring your camera for pictures with the Bunny! Stay and Play at the Park. Pre-registration is required and limited to 40 kids per session. Additional sessions may be added.
Lake Elmo Jaycees Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. 10:00am. Lake Elmo Lions Park, Lake Elmo. The Lake Elmo Jaycees are hosting the Annual Easter Egg Hunt Event on Saturday, March 27th, 2021. This is a free event open to the community, everyone welcome! Event will take place RAIN, SNOW or SHINE. Masks required. This year we will release start the hunt at 10am SHARP! Make sure to have your kiddos ready to hunt by 9:50am. So, grab your favorite Easter egg basket and join us for some fun.
Egg Hunt. 10:00am. Commons Park, Shoreview. Join us for an old-fashioned egg hunt! Each participant will receive a bag of goodies in addition to hunting for prize-filled eggs. Ages 2 – 5: 10 am. Ages 6 – 10: 10:45 am.
Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt. 10:00am – 12:30pm. Richfield United Methodist Church, 5835 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis. You’re invited to a Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt experience! Come and pick up an Easter Egg Hunt Take-Home Kit (1 per child), take a photo surrounded by wonderful spring decorations, and try a fun no-contact carnival game with prizes, prizes, prizes! Enter the parking lot from the Garfield Avenue exit, please remain masked and in your vehicle, thanks! BONUS: Bring food/health donations for VEAP Food Pantry, thanks!
Easter Egg Hunt. 10:00am – 12:45pm. The Gym – Boltz’s Family Martial Arts and Key Fitness, Mendota Heights. Come join us for Easter Holiday fun with an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny. With age specific sessions to allow for smaller numbers and even playing field when its comes to searching for eggs in the arena, this is fun event for all ages! Admissions is submission of the Easter Egg Hunt coloring page colored by the kids and details filled out by the parents.
Easter Story & Reverse Parade. 10:30am – 12:00pm. Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1390 Larpenteur Ave E, Saint Paul. In place of our annual Easter egg hunt, we invite you to join us for a socially-distant family-friendly event…DRIVE THRU the ORLC parking lot to see the Easter story with costumed actors and receive an Easter basket filled with candy and crafts. FREE event for all ages to enjoy.
Bunny Drive Through. 11:00am – 12:00pm. Langford Park Recreation Center, St. Paul. Come and meet the bunny from the warmth of your car. Participants will enter the line at Raymond and Gordon – When you reach the front of Langford Park, you’ll be handed bingo cards + crayons for the youth in your vehicle. As you drive along the park, mark which creatures you see roaming in the Langford Park Forest! At the end of the drive, your family will receive a treat bag and have the opportunity to say hi to the the bunny. Everyone must remain in the vehicle for the entirety of the event. Masks are required when windows are down. Registration required – one registration per vehicle, please do not register individual family members. Egg Hunt & Candy Grab. 11:00am. Lions Park, 1103 Adams St., Shakopee. This event will be held at Lions Park from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 27. A registration fee of $5 will be charged to anyone who wishes to attend; however, kids 2 and under will be free. Participants should plan on registering for a spot in one of three time slots: 1-2:30 p.m., 2:45-4:15 p.m. or 4:30-6 p.m. Activities will include egg hunts, games, crafts, picture station and more! Registration opens March 1 at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/registration.
VSD Easter Egg Hunt. 12:00 – 2:00pm. Valley Self Defense, Oak Park Heights. Join Valley Self-Defense for an Easter egg hunt! There’ll be candy and maybe a few surprises. Kids of all ages, religions, and backgrounds are welcome! We’ll have something available for children ages 1-3 as well so that they may participate without competing with older kids.
Giant Egg Drive Thru. 1:00 – 3:00pm. McDonough Recreation Center, Saint Paul. A drive thru version of your favorite egg hunt! Children must be present to receive a gift basket. Due to limited supply, one gift bag per child. Everyone must remain in the vehicle for the entirety of the event. Masks are required when windows are down.
Hide and Peep Egg Hunt. 1:00 – 3:00pm. Maplewood Mall, Maplewood. You’re invited to an Egg Hunt egg-stravaganza! Visit Maplewood Mall on Saturday March 27th for a fun and family friendly event. Come celebrate the season with us! This FREE Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt will take you through 2 levels of clues to keep you and your family hunting for more! This event is perfect for families waiting for their Bunny Photos! Reserve your spot for photos.
2021 Egg Hunt and Candy Grab. 1:00 – 6:00pm. Lions Park, Shakopee. Join us for an afternoon of family fun at Lions Park! Activities and attractions include egg hunts, games, arts and crafts, a caricature artist, pictures with the bunny and more! The registration fee is $5. Participants can register for three different time slots: 1-2:15 p.m., 2:30-4:15 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m. Kids under 2-years-old are free, all other kids and adults are required to register for a space. Due to state health guidelines we are required to take registrations which enables us to track the number of people at the event at any one time. Please register everyone that will be attending that day. The event will take place rain or shine so dress appropriately. Don’t forget to bring a bag for collecting eggs and candy. Free Selfies With Mrs Easter Bunny. 12:00 – 4:00pm. Eden Prairie Center, Eden Prairie. While we may not be hosting our traditional pics with the Easter Bunny this year, you can still capture the season by coming to take a free selfie photo with Mrs Bunny. On Sunday, March 28 from 12pm-4pm you can make a reservation to bring your camera and take a free photo with Mrs Easter Bunny. Be sure to register in advance.
Easter Egg Hunt. 1:00 – 3:00pm. Northwoods Park, Hutchinson. We are hosting an EASTER EGG HUNT! It will be held on March 27th from 1-3p.m at Northwoods Park for kids ages 1-10. Eggs will be scattered throughout the park/field. There will be 4 plastic bunnies hidden, (one in each age group) and one “golden egg” hidden for any age to find. Whoever finds the 4 bunnies and golden egg will win an Easter basket full of goodies. 🐰
TUESDAY, MARCH 30
Toddler Tuesdays at Home: Crafting with Wendell the Easter Bunny. 10:00am – 10:30am. Mall of America, Bloomington. Wendell the Easter Bunny would love to make a craft with you! Pick up your Toddler Tuesdays Fun Pack for all the necessary materials to participate. Plus, learn the proper technique on how to hop like a bunny! Hip, hop, hooray!
Paint Your Own Cookie: Bunny behind Eggs. 4:00 – 7:00pm. Keewaydin Park, 3030 53rd St. E. Minneapolis. Paint your own cookie! Each kit includes edible paint and a small paint brush. Simply dip the brush in water and use the edible paint to create your colorful cookie design! Pre-register. $6.00 fee.
THURSDAY, APRIL 1
Eggcellent Celebration. 9:00am – 6:00pm. ReMAX, Maple Grove. Wondering how to do an egg hunt with the kids while social distancing? We got you! Stop by anytime between 9am – 6pm at the new RE/MAX Results location at 7373 Kirkwood Ln N in Maple Grove to receive a gift-filled egg from our friendly bunny on Thursday, April 1st. Supplies are limited to first come, first served.
Family Egg Dyeing Egg-stravaganza 2021. 6:30 – 8:30pm. Harriet Alexander Nature Center, Roseville. $8. Try several easy and fun egg dyeing techniques, including using recycled silk neckties, rubber bands, and even cracked eggs. You will create beautifully dyed eggs, play some egg games, and try the “Who Lays Eggs?” scavenger hunt. Each person should bring 4 hard-boiled eggs & 2 UNCOOKED eggs and an egg carton for drying and transporting eggs. Bring an old, 100% silk necktie or scarf if you have one (we will provide some as well.)

Spring Break Eggsperiment Kit. 4:00 – 6:00pm. Longfellow Recreation Center, Minneapolis. Celebrate spring and break from school with a take home kit full of experiments with eggs! The kit will include the supplies and instructions for a variety of science and egg activities. Do one each day or work your way through the activities at your pace. Are you ready to create a geode or rubber egg? Maybe you are ready to try that idea from TikTok? Can you break an egg in your hand?, make an egg float, create an egg snack and try new ideas for egg decorating. Pre-register. $5.00 (Resident), $7.50 (Non-resident).

Easter Egg Candy Hunt. 9:00am. City Center Park, Chanhassen (just north of Chanhassen City Hall). The City of Chanhassen’s 38th annual Easter Egg Candy Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3rd from 9-11am at City Center Park. Kids ages 12 & under will hunt for candy and eggs in three different age categories. Each participant will receive a bag (with goodies!) for gathering candy and eggs as well as the chance to find special eggs that are redeemable for prizes. Bring your camera for an eggstra-special, socially-distant photo with the Easter Bunny! The Easter Egg Candy Hunt is held rain or shine at City Center Park, north of Chanhassen City Hall at 7700 Market Blvd. Tickets are $6/child. Preregistration is strongly encouraged, as space will be limited due to COVID-19. If the event fills prior to April 3, no walk-up registrations will be taken. Preregistration closes Friday, April 2 at 4pm.

This year has been a crazy one with a lot of changed or cancelled plans, so we’re doing this year’s Easter Egg Hunt a little differently for the safety of the kids and families of our community and our neighbors and local businesses are getting in on the fun too!
Mystery Egg Hunt. 9:00am – 12:00pm. Discovery Center, Oakdale. $12 per child, parents attend free! Eggs will be hidden along the trails of the Oakdale Nature Preserve. Once you find an egg it can be redeemed for a special prize! Participants will stop along stations after they find their egg. Don’t miss this ever popular event!
Spring Celebration with the Easter Bunny. 9:00am – 3:00pm. The Woods Gifts, Woodbury. Join us for our 23rd annual free Spring Celebration with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 3! Easter Egg Hunt. 10:00am. Spectrum High School, Elk River. In-person or pick-up kit. Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt for kids 0 through 5th grade! This year we’re offering an in person option as well as an at home option where you’ll drive through to pick up a kit to have an egg hunt at home for your kids. Both events are free!
Lions Club Egg Hunt. 10:00am. ROC, 3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park. Kids ages 3 – 8, join us for the annual Lions Club Egg Hunt at the ROC! Register by age for a time slot to collect goodies and take a photo with the Park Bunny. Be sure to bring a camera! Participants will receive a bag to collect goodies, or they can bring their own. Easter Egg Drive Thru. 10:00am – 1:00pm. Our Savior Lutheran Church & School, Excelsior. Pack the kids in the car and come to the Our Savior Lutheran Church & School parking lot (between Hwy 41 and County Road 19) on Saturday, April 3 between 10:00-1:00pm. This COVID friendly event is replacing the 2021 Community Easter Egg Hunt typically held at the Excelsior Commons. Register in advance! Please register only ONE adult per vehicle.
Easter Egg Hunt. 11:00am (open at 10:00am). Northpoint Church, Coon Rapids. We are EGG-cited for you to join us for our 2021 Easter Egg Hunt! Egg enthusiasts from toddlers to 5th grade are invited to join in the fun. The outdoor hunt begins with more than 5,000 candy filled eggs on our property. The hunt will start at 11 AM sharp and will be over in a matter of minutes, so be sure to show up early. Our site will be open beginning at 10am for hot chocolate, hot dogs, coffe and free pictures with the Easter Bunny. So grab your basket and bring “some-bunny” special to the North Point Church 2021 Easter Egg Hunt!
69th Annual American Legion Auxiliary Easter Event. 10:00am – 11:30am. Chaska VFW. Annually the American Legion Auxiliary hosts an Easter Egg Hunt – due to the pandemic we’ve switched it up and will be hosting a drive thru! There will be candy for the first 1000 kids, golden eggs with a chance to win a gift card, and of course the Easter bunny! In place of the hat parade, feel free to decorate your car, we’ll be taking photos. (unfortunately, no prizes this year for decorating.)
The EGGstraordinary 1000 Egg Hunt!! 10:00am – 12:00pm. Aquatore Park, Blaine. The Homes by Shayne team is BEYOND EGGcited to be throwing this family fun Easter Event! April 3rd, 2021 we will have a real Easter Bunny to hang out with all the kids, take photos, and plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy together!
Excellent Egg Frenzy. 10:00am – 12:10pm. Healtheast Sports Center, Woodbury. The traditional Excellent Egg Frenzy look a little different this year! Bring your bucket and join us for a little extra egg fun! Toy filled eggs will be scattered around the outdoor softball fields at HealthEast Sports Center. Participants will receive a spring craft project to complete at home and can collect up to 20 eggs from the field. Please note: some items in the eggs are listed as choking hazards and not recommended for children under the age of 3. $5 pre-registration required. Registration full.
Spring Eggstravaganza Drive-Thru! 10:00am – 12:30pm. Marsh Lake Playfields West Parking Lot, West 94th Street & France Avenue South, Bloomington. The Spring Eggstravaganza is this year’s version of the annual Spring Egg hunt—minus the hunting! Participants will drive-thru the Marsh Lake Playfields West Parking Lot and make stops over an approximately 5-minute time period to enjoy a variety of giveaways and activities at booths (including a fire truck!). REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT in order to limit traffic congestion and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Use your flashlight to find the eggs scattered in the outfields of the softball fields. Participants will receive a spring craft project to complete at home. $5 pre-registration required. SUNDAY, APRIL 4 Happy Easter!
Easter at Riverdale. Starting at 8:15am. Riverdale Church, Andover. We have 3 family-friendly services at 8:15a, 9:30a, and 11:00a, as well as 3 giant egg hunts during each of our services!
Easter at North Star. 9:30am. North Star Community Church, Coon Rapids. We’ll have a petting zoo with all of your kiddo’s farm favorites, food trucks like Chub Hub, Mac’s Mini Donuts and Mansetti’s, and a beautiful family photo spot for those cute Easter pictures! During service all of our guests will get a “mini” bag of “Mac’s Mini” donuts as a free treat, and the kids will enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt in Kid’s Church.
Easter Egg Hunt. 10:00am. North Haven Church, North Saint Paul. Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 am followed by an Easter Service at 10:30 am. It’s going to be a fun time for kids and kids at heart!
Easter Walk-Through EGGstravaganza. 11:00am – 1:00pm. RiverLife Church, Saint Paul. Celebrate Easter with a kid-friendly, COVID-safe journey through a land of giant candy, dinosaur eggs, Disney princesses, and Jesus’ empty tomb.
