Looking for a fun, family-friendly fall activity in Minnesota? We were recently hosted at Fall Harvest Orchard in Delano, Minnesota, to experience their new Sunny’s Pumpkin Walk, and it was such a fun way to spend a fall evening with my teens!
From farm animals and mini golf to food trucks and glowing pumpkin displays, there’s plenty to enjoy here. What I especially loved was the welcoming atmosphere and how the new pumpkin walk offers a fun fall experience without being too overwhelming for younger visitors.

Fall Fun at Fall Harvest Orchard
As soon as you arrive at Fall Harvest Orchard, there’s plenty to explore! The entrance area has pumpkins and gifts available for purchase, making it a fun spot to browse and get into the fall spirit.
As you make your way through the orchard, you’ll find animals like sheep and goats (plus barn cats!), a food truck area, and several activities to enjoy. Families can play mini golf, bounce on the giant jumping pillow, and take advantage of the other included activities before or after exploring the pumpkin walk.

Having so many different things to do makes this a great destination for families who want more than just a pumpkin display. You can grab something to eat, enjoy some outdoor activities, and spend time together soaking up the fall atmosphere.
Sunny’s Pumpkin Walk: A New Fall Experience in Delano
The newest addition is Sunny’s Pumpkin Walk, an illuminated pumpkin trail featuring more than 3,000 glowing jack-o’-lanterns and themed displays.
The trail is about a quarter mile long, making it a manageable walk for families with younger children. I really appreciated that it felt enjoyable and interesting without being overwhelming. There are no scary attractions, so it’s a great option for families looking for a more relaxed, kid-friendly Halloween outing.

One of my favorite parts was seeing the variety of themed pumpkin displays throughout the trail. There are Minnesota-themed scenes, throwbacks to the ’80s, Harry Potter-inspired displays, outer space themes, and so much more!
There’s something fun to discover around each turn, and the illuminated pumpkins make the whole experience feel extra magical once the sun goes down.

My teens and I really enjoyed walking through the glowing displays, and it was fun to see how many different themes were represented. It’s a great reminder that fall activities can be fun for older kids and teens, too!
More to Enjoy During Your Visit
Beyond the pumpkin trail, Fall Harvest Orchard offers several ways to make an evening of your visit.
Here are a few highlights:
- Farm animals: A fun stop for animal lovers and younger kids.
- Mini golf: An activity the family can enjoy together.
- Giant jumping pillow: A great way for kids to burn off some energy.
- Food trucks: Grab something to eat while enjoying the fall atmosphere.
- Apple house: Stop by when it’s open during your visit.
- Gift shopping: Browse the gifts and seasonal finds near the entrance.
- Live entertainment: Entertainment is generally scheduled between 6 and 9 p.m.
Mini golf, the pumpkin bounce pad, and the shooting gallery are included with a Pumpkin Walk ticket, according to the orchard’s website.
With all these activities in one place, it’s easy to turn your visit into a full family evening instead of just a quick walk through the pumpkins.
What ages is it best for?
I would definitely recommend it for families with kids of all ages looking for a fall outing that feels festive without being too intense.
The short trail, colorful displays, and variety of themes make it approachable for younger visitors. Since the experience focuses on illuminated pumpkins rather than scares, it’s a nice alternative for kids who love Halloween but aren’t ready for haunted attractions.
And if you’re bringing older kids or teens, there are still plenty of things to enjoy. My teens and I had a great time exploring the trail, and the different themed displays gave us lots to look at along the way.
