National Cheeseburger Day is Friday, September 18th, and if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to grab a burger, Sept. 18th is the day to do it!
Several major restaurant chains are celebrating with free burgers, BOGO offers and discounted meals. Some deals are available only through restaurant apps or loyalty programs, so be sure to check the fine print before ordering.
Here are National Cheeseburger Day deals to know about that I know are in Minnesota:
Applebee’s — Burger and Fries for $8.99
On Sept. 18th, Applebee’s is offering its Classic Burger or Classic Cheeseburger with fries for $8.99.
The one-day deal is available for both dine-in and to-go orders.

Burger King — A Week of Royal Perks Deals
Burger King is stretching the celebration beyond one day with a full week of deals for Royal Perks members, running Sept. 14-20.
Here’s the remaining lineup:
- Sept. 18: Free Bacon Cheeseburger
- Sept. 19: Free four-piece nuggets
- Sept. 20: Free Original Chicken Sandwich
These deals require a $3 minimum purchase. Offers are available through the Burger King app or website.
Buffalo Wild Wings — Buy One, Get One Burger
Near Buffalo Wild Wings on Sept. 18th? Use code BURGERDAY to buy a burger and get a second burger of equal or lesser value free.
That makes this one worth checking out if you’re grabbing dinner with a friend.
Dairy Queen — Free Cheeseburger Stackburger
Dairy Queen is giving Rewards members a free single Original Cheeseburger Signature Stackburger with a purchase of $1 or more from Sept. 14-18.
The offer is available exclusively through the DQ App at participating restaurants.
Denny’s — Second Burger 50% Off
At Denny’s, customers can buy a Double Cheeseburger and get a second one for 50% off.
The Diner QP is also included in Denny’s $9.99 Triple Play menu, which comes with a three-course meal.
Five Guys — Buy One Burger, Get One Free
Five Guys is running a BOGO burger promotion from Sept. 16-18.
Buy any burger and get another burger of equal or lesser value free at participating locations. The offer is available through digital ordering only, using code BOGOBURGER on the Five Guys app or website.
Freddy’s – 50% Off a Steakburger
From Friday, Sept. 18, to Sunday, Sept. 20, get 50% off any Freddy’s Triple Steakburger, excluding the Prime. Get the deal in the Freddy’s Rewards app (offer good in drive-thru, in-restaurant dining, pickup, or delivery).
McDonald’s — Free Double Cheeseburger
McDonald’s is offering a free Double Cheeseburger with a $1 minimum purchase on Sept. 18th at participating locations.
The offer is available exclusively through the McDonald’s app for MyMcDonald’s Rewards members and is limited to one offer per person.
Red Robin — BIG YUMMM DEALS
Red Robin is celebrating with its BIG YUMMM DEALS, with options starting at $9.99.
The deal includes an entrée, a Bottomless side and a Bottomless drink, giving burger fans another option for celebrating the day.
Smashburger — $1 Smash Burger
This may be one of the most attention-grabbing deals of the day.
On Sept. 18th, SmashRewards members can get any single Smash burger for $1 at participating locations nationwide.
The offer is available in restaurants, through the Smashburger app for pickup or through first-party delivery. It cannot be combined with other offers.
Wendy’s — Dave’s Single for $1.99
Wendy’s is offering a Dave’s Single for $1.99 through an in-app offer.
The deal is available Sept. 18th only, so you’ll want to check the Wendy’s app before ordering.
The bottom line
