The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is offering free admission to 13 of its historic sites and museums on Saturday, June 27th, 2026!

Why? June 27th is “MNHS Summer Free Admission Day.”
There are 26 historic locations that are part of the Minnesota Historical Society. Some are free, but many do charge admission. Here are some places that usually charge admission but will be FREE on June 27th:
METRO
- James J. Hill House, St. Paul (10:00am – 5:00pm)
- Historic Fort Snelling, St. Paul (10:00am – 4:00pm)
- Mill City Museum, Minneapolis (10:00am – 5:00pm)
- Minnesota History Center, St. Paul (10:00am – 4:00pm)
- Minnesota State Capit0l, St. Paul (10:00am – 3:00pm)
- Oliver Kelley Farm, Elk River (9:00am – 3:00pm)
GREATER MINNESOTA
- Comstock House, Moorhead (10:00am – 4:00pm)
- Forest History Center, Grand Rapids (10:00am – 3:00pm)
- Jeffers Petroglyphs, Comfrey (10:00am – 8:00pm)
- Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post, Onamia (10:00am – 5:00pm)
- Sibley Historic Site, Mendota (10:00am – 4:00pm)
- Split Rock Lighthouse, Two Harbors (10:00am – 6:00pm)
- W.W. Mayo House, Le Sueur (10:00am – 4:00pm)
There are four days each program year that the MNHS offers free admission. This is one of four for this program year. There is one each season – summer, fall, winter and spring.
Note that not all standard programming and tours will be available during these free days.

The Minnesota History Center is FREE on Thursday nights.
Minnesota 6th Graders can get a FREE 6th Grade Minnesota History Pass to use for free admission to Minnesota Historical Society sites and museums.
If you are a Bank of America cardholder, you may qualify for free admission the first full weekend of each month through their Museums on Us program.
The Minnesota History Center – and all the Minnesota Historical Society sites – offer discounted admission for limited income families through their limited income program. Admission is $4.
