We were invited to try The Hyderabad Indian Grill in Fridley, so my husband and I decided to make it a date night — and honestly, we were pleasantly surprised!

We’ve been wanting to explore some new local restaurants, and this turned out to be a great choice. There were so many flavorful dishes on their HUGE menu, and we really enjoyed the variety we got to try.
One note: Their menu is divided by regions of India, which is helpful and interesting!
What We Tried
We sampled several of their most popular dishes:

🥘 Vegetable Samosa – Deep fried pastries stuffed with potatoes and peas, seasoned to perfection
🥘 Fried Chicken Momo – Golden fried dumplings filled with seasoned ground chicken, served with tomato-cilantro sauce
🥘 Chilly Chicken – Boneless chicken cubes marinated, fried, and tossed in chili sauce and spices
🥘 Lamb Makhani – Tender boneless lamb cooked in a rich tomato cream sauce
🥘 Chicken Tikka Masala – Fire roasted chicken with onion, bell pepper, tomato sauce, and cream
🥘 Garlic Naan – Fresh naan baked in a tandoor with garlic
🥘 Chicken 65 Biryani – Tender chicken 65 combined with aromatic biryani rice (a popular house favorite)
🥘 Mysore Bonda – Soft, golden fried dumplings made with flour and yogurt
🥘 Mirchi Bhajji – Traditional deep fried chili fritters
🥘 Gulab Jamun – Sweet milk dough balls soaked in syrup
🥭 Mango Lassi – A creamy mango yogurt drink

Our Favorites
My personal favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Samosas (pictured below), Garlic Naan, and the Mango Lassi — which I had never tried before and now completely understand the hype around.

My husband especially enjoyed the Chicken 65 Biryani, Lamb Makhani, and Chilly Chicken.
There’s a nice range of flavors across the menu, from milder dishes to spicier options, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Helpful Info
If you enjoy spicier food, you’ll especially love dishes like the Chilly Chicken. If you prefer milder flavors, there are still plenty of great options to choose from — I personally found a lot I really enjoyed.
Their portions are huge too! Consider sharing some like the Chicken 65 Biryani.
They also offer kids’ meals, making it a good option for families as well.
