Ice Castles are back at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, and they are always one of our favorite winter experiences! ❄️✨ If you’re looking for something fun to do with kids, teens, or even a group of friends, this is a must-see winter attraction.

I recently visited Ice Castles St. Paul with my daughter and some of her friends, and it was such a fun outing—especially for teens who love taking photos and trying all the activities.

What You’ll See at Ice Castles
Ice Castles are truly magical, especially at night when everything is lit up. Some highlights include:
-
Ice caves to explore
-
Snow and ice sculptures carved into the walls (like Yoda!)
-
Ice slides (a favorite for kids and teens!)
-
Tubing areas
-
Food and treats available on-site
-
An ice bar for adults
-
Entertainers throughout the experience
-
Tons of photo opportunities
There’s something for every age, which makes it a great family outing—or even a fun date night or girls’ night out.

What to Wear (Trust Me on This!)
A few important tips before you go:
-
Dress VERY warm
-
Wear boots – the ground is crushed ice, and walking on it is a workout
-
Snowpants are highly recommended, especially if you plan to go on the ice slides (they are pure ice!)
-
Bring sleds if you have younger kids—you can pull them along, which helps a lot
These little prep steps make the experience much more enjoyable.
