When times get tight, every dollar and every meal counts — and right now, millions of families across the country are facing an unprecedented food crisis.
Two organizations have announced initiatives to help SNAP recipients this November 2025.
DoorDash
DoorDash just announced an Emergency Food Response as federal funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) faces a possible shutdown that could impact over 40 million Americans, including 21 million children and 16 million working families.
As a mom and someone who’s built this blog to help Twin Cities families make ends meet, I wanted to highlight this — because help like this can make a real difference right now.

What DoorDash Is Doing
Here’s what’s included in their new initiative throughout November 2025:
-
1 million free meals delivered through food banks nationwide (including Project DASH partners right here in Minnesota).
-
No delivery or service fees for about 300,000 grocery orders placed by SNAP recipients through DoorDash.
-
Participating stores include Hy-Vee, Dollar General, Food Lion, Giant, Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Sprouts, Schnucks, Wegmans, and more.
-
-
Food donations from DashMart locations going straight to local food banks and pantries.
How to Use It?
If you or someone you know uses SNAP/EBT, you can link your card in the DoorDash app and get one waived-fee grocery order in November. Eligible customers will need to use promo code SNAPDD to redeem. Limit one per person.
GoPuff
Gopuff is helping too.
Gopuff Is Stepping In Too: Up to $50 in Free Groceries for SNAP Recipients
DoorDash isn’t the only delivery service helping families this month — Gopuff is donating up to $10 million in free groceries to SNAP recipients during November 2025.
Here’s how it works:
-
Connect your SNAP EBT card to your Gopuff account if you haven’t already.
-
Fill your online cart with SNAP-eligible groceries.
-
Use the codes:
-
SNAPRELIEF1between Nov. 1–15 for $25 off SNAP-eligible items + free delivery -
SNAPRELIEF2between Nov. 16–30 for another $25 off SNAP-eligible items + free delivery
-
That’s a total of $50 in savings for families who qualify. Each code is valid until 200,000 coupons are redeemed, so it’s first come, first served.
This is a simple, practical way to stretch your grocery budget while SNAP benefits are temporarily delayed — especially for families in the Twin Cities who may already be feeling the pinch from rising food costs.
Why It Matters Locally
With food prices still high and budgets stretched thin, many families in the Twin Cities are already visiting food shelves more often. These efforts won’t solve everything — but it’s helpful for families who may face a temporary loss in SNAP benefits.
Food banks across Minnesota, including Second Harvest Heartland, are already bracing for increased demand. So even if you don’t need help right now, consider donating, volunteering, or sharing this info with a neighbor who might.

Final Thoughts
It’s encouraging to see companies stepping up in times of need, but long-term solutions still depend on strong public support for programs like SNAP. In the meantime, let’s keep sharing these resources and looking out for one another — because no family should ever have to choose between rent and dinner!
