If you haven’t yet visited the Jack-O’-Lantern Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo, you’re in for a treat!

This annual event is absolutely amazing, featuring over 8,000 pumpkins, including intricately carved real ones. My husband and I went on a date night outing there and spent a full hour and a half walking through—and that’s just a quick tour. Depending on how much you want to explore, it can easily take longer.
There are REAL carved pumpkins – and the displays are truly impressive, grouped by creative themes that make each section feel like its own world. For example, there are pumpkins that are movie-themed, nature-themed, sports-themed, and beyond.

For comparison to previous years, this year, the path is one-way, which really helps with the flow. It’s also stroller-friendly, though be prepared for some hilly spots. I wouldn’t recommend pushing a wheelchair through here due to the hills, but a motorized chair would probably be ok. (The Zoo says basically the same thing.)
The event officially opened September 26th and goes through November 2nd. It’s fun for all ages. There are even adult-only nights, so be sure to check the zoo’s calendar before you go.
There are many photo opportunities here.
When it comes to food and drink, there’s plenty to enjoy. I treated myself to a hot chocolate, but there are also hot foods, sweet treats, and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages available throughout the event.

Tickets
Tickets are $23-30 for adults and $19-$25 for children/65+ adults. Plus $10 for parking, per car for non-members. Members get $3-4 off tickets.
The price is TOTALLY worth it if you can swing that. It’s a fully immersive experience that does take some time to get through so you do get your money’s worth.
So… are you planning to go this year? Don’t miss the chance to experience this spooky, spectacular, and pumpkin-packed adventure!
