Twin Cities families! If you’re looking for a place to take the family for a wholesome, delicious meal without breaking the bank, you have to check out Mill Valley Kitchen in St. Louis Park and Rochester.
We went there recently on a Sunday night, and it was such a win for everyone.

Why do I recommend Mill Valley Kitchen? Read on…
Free Kids Meals on Sundays!
Let’s start with the best news – kids eat free on Sundays! That means you get a break on the bill while the kids get a healthy, tasty meal.

The fine print: Kids 12 and under eat free on Sundays 4-8pm with the purchase of an adult meal. Up to 2 kids meals per adult. They don’t advertise this loudly – but it’s been offered for years. (Always double-check the deal, though, because things can change.)
Nutritious Kid-Approved Meals
Our kids went for the Mac and Cheese and the Burger meal, but these are not your typical greasy versions. The portions are generous, and the meals come with fresh fruit, a side salad, and even a cookie. They also have healthier choices like Salmon and Rice, Chicken and Rice, Chicken Tacos, and Cheese Flatbread. A perfect mix of flavor and nutrition.
Wholesome Appetizers and Main Courses for Us
One of the best things about Mill Valley Kitchen is their commitment to healthful, nutritious options for the whole family.
While the kids were loving their meals, my husband and I started with some light and flavorful appetizers – Steamed Mussels, Mango Veggie Spring Rolls, and Grilled Chicken Drumsticks and Wings. That chicken was next-level – smoky, with a Korean Dry Rub and a Sweet Chili Lime dipping sauce. It was packed with flavor but not greasy or heavy.

My husband loved the mussels, which were fresh and clean-tasting, and one of my teens went for the Flatbread with Truffle Mushrooms – a savory but not overwhelming choice.
My stepson also loves potatoes so we added a side of Crispy Potatoes to share between us as well.

We also enjoyed some delicious drinks – a light Prosecco for me (I like sparkly and sweet), and my husband enjoyed an Old Fashioned.

Naturally Sweet Ending – Dessert Time!
We wrapped up with a dessert trio – Chocolate Mousse, Maple Panna Cotta, and Banana Cream Pie. Oh, and an Orange Cardamom Crème Brulee with the crispiest, buttery top. These desserts were indulgent but felt balanced, not overly sugary.

Bright and Refreshing Ambience
Mill Valley Kitchen has such a fresh, light vibe with lots of greenery, giving it a clean and relaxing feel. If the weather is nice, you can even enjoy their outdoor patio.

What About Prices?
Salads start at $11, and entrees at $18. Kids’ meals are normally $9-$13, which is a great value for the quality. If you catch a deal (like kids eating free on Sundays), that’s a bonus! Totally worth it for the nutritious options, excellent service, and fresh flavors.
