Paddington is back! Paddington in Peru is the third Paddington movie, and it’s in theatres February 14th. We saw the first two Paddington movies when they came out several years ago. I especially liked the second one (I reviewed it here), and my kids and I were so excited to see this one.
We had the chance to see Paddington in Peru early at a special advance screening, and it was so much fun! It’s a movie filled with Paddington’s unique blend of charm and silly humor, which kids especially will love.
This time, the marmalade-loving bear is headed deep into the jungles of Peru on an exciting quest.

About Paddington in Peru
When Paddington discovers that his dear Aunt Lucy has gone missing from the Home for Retired Bears, he and the Brown family set off for the wilds of Peru to find her. Their only clue? A mysterious mark on an old map. Determined to solve the mystery, Paddington and his human family embark on an incredible journey through the Amazon rainforest, facing surprises, challenges, and maybe even discovering some legendary treasures along the way!
The movie stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, Carla Tous, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, and Ben Whishaw returning as the voice of Paddington.
It has a lot of wacky humor. Like any fantasy story, the storyline is more imaginative than believable (don’t analyze it too much), but it’s entertaining nonetheless.
The ending was unexpected too! It had a bit of a twist and an unexpected find.
How kid-friendly is Paddington in Peru?
The movie is rated PG for “action, mild rude humor, and some thematic elements.” However, honestly I didn’t notice anything inappropriate for kids. It was innocent entertainment, much cleaner than many other movies out there.
My rating?
I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars. It’s not as funny as the second Paddington movie, but it has the same spirit and energy.
Like the other Paddington movies, it will make you laugh, maybe tear up a little (heads up, empty nesters), and leave the theater feeling warm and happy. Paddington in Peru is a fun movie for all ages. It officially hits theatres this Friday, February 14th, 2025—don’t miss it!
