It’s pretty cool being in 4th grade in Minnesota, because you can get a great skiing deal just for being a 4th grader!
Minnesota Ski Areas Association 4th Grade Passport Program
The Minnesota Ski Areas Association offers a 4th Grade Passport Program so kids have a chance to play on MN Slopes this winter as much as they want for $39.99. The goal is for families to enjoy winter, have fun and stay healthy together.

Every 4th grader in Minnesota can get this pass, and all Minnesota Ski Areas are participating.
It’s back for 2024-2025, and the cost is $39.99 but that includes tax, payment processing fee and administrative costs of the program. When you sign up, your 4th grader receives a special e-pass which includes either discounted or free lift tickets at every Minnesota member area.
In previous years the cost was $34.95 but it went up this year.
The deals are only good for the 4th grader, but some places do include discounts for family members.
Some of the ski areas participating include:
- Wild Mountain – Unlimited number of lift tickets for the pass holder only
- Giants Ridge – Unlimited number of lift tickets for the pass holder
- Elm Creek – 3 Daily Lift Tickets for the pass holder only
- Spirit Mountain – 2 lift tickets per season, plus other discounts
- Afton Alps – unlimited lift tickets
- plus many more!
Each site has different limits for how many lift tickets can be used per day.
