Few characters in children’s literature are as well-known and loved as Curious George, who we all know as that curious, mischievous little monkey. My kids enjoyed reading the books growing up, just like I did. And now at the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the exhibit Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious! brings George’s world to life, creating a fun, hands-on learning experience for kids and families!

We visited the exhibit, and from the moment you step into it, the bright design make you feel like you’re in the pages of H.A. and Margret Rey’s classic books. Every corner of the exhibit is packed with interactive activities that encourage kids to learn through play.

About the Exhibit

Curiosity and Problem-Solving

This exhibit is all about celebrating curiosity and problem-solving, just like Curious George! There are fun challenges for kids, like figuring out how to use a pulley at George’s construction site or experimenting with wind power by launching pinwheels.

STEM Learning Through Play

There are multiple opportunities to explore basic STEM concepts. For example, the “Mini-Golf Course” allows kids to experiment with angles and momentum, and the “Apartment Building” section teaches them about light patterns.

Cityscape Adventure

The cityscape play area is super popular with families. Here kids can role-play as they explore a pretend grocery store or operate a produce stand. These activities are great for imagination, plus building social and cooperative skills.

George’s World – It Feels Immersive!

Fans of the books and TV show will love the attention to detail here. George’s neighborhood, including his yellow house, feels like you’re really in the books!

Having 2 kids with special needs, I appreciate that this exhibit is designed to be accessible for children of all abilities. Signage is clear, and most activities can be adjusted to meet the needs of every child. My stepson was able to enjoy the activities here.
