Did you know that there are different things on sale each month of the year?
A while back I put together a Month to Month Shopping Guide that lists the best items to buy each month to save money!
Here I am highlighting the best items to buy this month!
November
Black Friday and other holiday sales are in full swing this month. They actually are starting earlier and earlier, and right now – as November begins – you can get deals galore at major stores like Walmart and Best Buy.
But because of supply shortages in the past, the key is to SHOP EARLY.
I also recommend shopping locally!
Check out my Twin Cities Business Directory for Moms, to find many great local businesses to support!
November is the best time to buy:
Wedding gowns: Boutiques are clearing out inventory between now and Christmas
Halloween clearance (while it lasts)
Thanksgiving meal fixings
Baking supplies for the holidays
Food storage containers – these are often on sale and you’ll need them to store any leftover turkey!
Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales! Best deals on electronics, toys. Black Friday is November 29th, and Cyber Monday is Monday, December 2nd. Also there’s Small Business Saturday on November 30th, and Giving Tuesday on December 3rd. National Buy Nothing Day is the day after Thanksgiving too. Join your local Buy Nothing group on Facebook!
Home services – demand is lower in the winter months for home contractors and services so consider hiring someone for a home project now
What NOT to Buy Right Now:
Winter clothing. Now these items are in demand, so prices are higher, with the exception of some deals. But if you can, wait until January for new items. HOWEVER – you CAN get great deals on used or like new winter items at thrift stores AND at kids consignment sales like Just Between Friends.
Bedding and linens – if you can, wait until January when white sales happen
Gift cards. Wait until early December for this. For example, Target has their annual 10% off Target gift cards sale in early December.
Exercise equipment. Sure, you may be starting to pack on the cold-weather pounds (I sure feel like I am!). But January is when the best prices are for anything having to do with fitness.
Special Days
November 5th is Election Day.
I think that’s why November 5th is also National Donut Day.
November 6th is National Stress Awareness Day, National Nachos Day, and National Saxophone Day. So after the election is over, we need some stress relief, nachos and jazz!? Sounds good to me.
November 8th is National S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M. Day, and National Cappuccino Day.
