Did you know that there are different things on sale each month of the year?
A while back I put together a Month to Month Shopping Guide that lists the best items to buy each month to save money!
Here I am highlighting the best items to buy this month!
What to Buy in May
This month there are special holidays offering discounts…
May also is National Salad Month, National Salsa Month, National Strawberry Month, National Photography Month, National Bike Month, National Egg Month, and National Barbecue Month.
You can find Star Wars merchandise and deals thanks to Star Wars day on May 4th: “May the Fourth Be With You.”
School Lunch Hero Day is May 3rd, so be sure to thank your school’s lunch servers!
National Astronaut Day and National Space Day is May 5th as well. It’s also Cinco de Maya so maybe serve some out of this world tacos! (Ha)
May 4th is National Play Outside Day and National Fitness Day, and it’s a Saturday, so it’s a great day to explore some parks and other outdoor places. Look for special events in your area.
May 6th is also National Nurses Day, and May 12th is International Nurses Day, so many attractions around this time have FREE admission and deals for nurses.
National Bike to School Day is May 8th, so many schools are encouraging kids to bike to school.
May 10th is National Clean Up Your Room Day, so maybe have your kids clean up their rooms in exchange for taking them out to eat somewhere they can eat for free (check this list).
May 11th is National Train Day and local train attractions are celebrating with events.
Mother’s Day is May 12th, and it means often higher prices for flowers leading up to the holiday, but at least you can find them everywhere!
Don’t forget to print out this FREE Mother’s Day Activity Page!
May 18th is International Museum Day so watch for museum admission deals or events.
May 19th is National Pizza Party Day. Make some homemade pizza, or order some – check out my behind the scenes tour of Papa Murphy’s!
