What a show!
Cirque du Soleil BAZZAR is at the Mall of America north parking lot now through June 16th. We went during opening week.
The talent is incredible! There were acrobats, dancers and musicians along with funny clown acts.
The show is led by a clown who calls himself Maestro, who keeps losing his flashy hat through the show, and fills the space between acts with silly skits that engage the audience.
There are 12 show-stopping circus acts including Teeterboard, Acro Bike, Trapeze, Fire Manipulation and Hair Hanging which is the weirdest thing I’ve seen in a circus. A woman literally was hanging by her hair which was up in a bun, as she spun all around. I don’t know how she does it without pain, but I’ve also read that this is something that Chinese acrobats have done for over 100 years.
The fire act was mezmerizing. We were in the second row and could feel the heat.
The show also features Mallakhamb – a traditional Indian sport that combines aerial yoga and gymnastics. This was super impressive. Two very strong guys did this act on a totem pole of sorts, and they’d run up to it and clasp it with their legs. This act is new to Cirque.
There are live musicians who handle everything from singing to sound effects. Some of them play multiple instruments masterfully. The style of music has mostly a rock feel. It’s powerful and the performers dance to it a few times through the show.

Tips for going:
Arrive early. There is free parking right next to the tents but arrive early for best spot and possible photo opportunities beforehand.
It gets loud in here. Bring headphones or earplugs if you have sensitive ears.
The tent is small so there are no bad seats.
There are concessions. Water is $6.50 and comes in a can (Liquid Death, which is a partner of the show). Don’t eat here if you want to eat cheap.
Tickets start at $40 but there is a family offer on their website.
Get tickets and info on their website.
