Spring has sprung at the Minnesota Zoo!
With spring break happening in March or April for most Minnesota families, and springlike weather already here it seems (!), the Minnesota Zoo has a ton to offer whenever you visit.
My family loves the Minnesota Zoo and all the fun we’ve had there as my kids have grown up. A lot has changed too! In the last year alone, now there’s a Treetop Trail, Dinos and more.
And there’s a lot happening – see my list below!

10 Reasons to Visit the Minnesota Zoo this Spring!
The Minnesota Zoo is Minnesota’s Best Spring Destination per Minnesota’s Best Readers’ Choice in 2023!
You can feel like you’re traveling the world at the Minnesota Zoo, but for less. Experience the lush Tropics Trail with blooming orchids and abundant new greenery (and real plants!) as well as a new golden poison frog, plus walk through the northwoods on the Minnesota Trail, or feel like you’re snorkeling through the coral reefs at Discovery Bay.

Love otters? My daughter’s favorite animal is the otter, and loves to see them here! Otters Nuka and Denali as they will be out more and more throughout the month. Watch them get some laps in their public-facing habitat in the mornings.

New animal show: Wings & Things! Every day at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm you can see this show in the Target Learning Center. See owls, porcupines, and more while learning fascinating facts about our natural world. (Check the schedule before you go as the show is not available select dates.)
Special activities! Children’s Theatre Company will be at the Zoo on March 29th hosting activities related to their upcoming production of Frog & Toad.
ZOOMS STEM Design Challenge – interested in STEM? Students will be at the Zoo to talk about their STEM projects and how it relates to the Zoo. Come check them out and cheer on the students from March 5th – 7th.

Zoo Camp! School’s Out Camps are offered during spring break weeks in late March and early April. Sign up while there’s still room!
Farm Babies! The Farm Babies season runs April 26th through May 19th at the Wells Fargo Family Farm. Get a sneak peek of the moms-to-be. The Farm opens for the season March 15th.
The new Treetop Trail is open daily. Plus more has been added – the bird blind has been completed and daily ambassador animal programming is hosted at the main Trailhead.
They have kid-free zoo experiences too! Check out the next Zoo After Hours on March 16th or April 20th.
These are just a few of the many reasons to visit the Minnesota Zoo!

Plus, I’m also excited that Dino Hideout will be opening again sometime this spring.
