The 20th Tech Fest is coming up Saturday, February 24th from 10:00am – 4:00pm at The Works Museum in Bloomington! And I have a TICKET GIVEAWAY!
It’s the 15th anniversary of this special event, and there will be cool activities and hourly giveaways.
What is Tech Fest?
It’s hands-on, engineering fun for families! Kids are natural engineers, full of questions such as why, how, and what if I did it differently? Tech Fest gathers corporations, educational institutions and other nonprofits working in engineering and technology to share their work and inspire kids.

What you’ll find at Tech Fest
There are lots of hands-on experiences, returning fan favorites, and 20th anniversary freebies.
At Tech Fest, families discover the many ways that science, technology, engineering, and math impact the world around us. They can explore at their own pace, visiting with our STEM partners and try our hands-on activities led by these scientists, engineers, and educators.
Here are just a few activities families can experience:
- Explore innovations in plumbing materials and build a sculpture
- Use encryption to encode and decode secret messages
- Perform chemistry experiments like chromatography
- Investigate advances in biomedical engineering such as heart valves, occluders, and catheters.
- And many more!
“Tech Fest is our longest running event, and it’s always exciting because technology is constantly changing and improving,” says Jill Measells, CEO of The Works Museum. “It’s a great way for kids to see the breadth of STEM careers out there, and an opportunity for parents to discover topics they may not have realized their children were interested in. All it takes is one positive experience to spark a lifelong love of STEM.”
There will be kid-friendly demos and activities led by scientists, engineers, and educators. This special family STEM day is the perfect opportunity to explore together. Get ready for some mind-blowing family fun!

Cost: $13 Pre-registered/$15 at the door. Members free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
