The Bartz Brothers snow sculpture for 2024 is here – and it’s a seal!
The Bartz Brothers have been creating newsworthy snow sculptures in New Brighton for years. They’ve done them in their front yard but now this year the sculpture is at Brightwood Hills Golf Course in New Brighton, and is in conjunction with other New Brighton events.
The Bartz Brothers are Austin, Trevor and Connor Bartz, and they have continued to amaze with their snowy works of art. Over the years they’ve created:
- A fish
- An octopus
- A snail
- a lobster
- a shark
- A turtle
- A walrus
- AND MORE
And this year – 2024 – they created a giant SEAL! And it even has a name – Sparky!
They did this despite warmer temps and low amounts of snow this winter season so far.
You can see it by parking in the lot just off of Silver Lake Road, or behind the church next door. I parked behind the church, where there was more parking. Then just walk over.
The Bartz Brothers are there selling their merchandise and posing with pictures if you wish. Be prepared for a line though! Bundle up if it’s cold as there were about 50 people in line when we stopped by.
They are raising money too:
“This year we are raising money for clean water in Africa through World Vision. Our hope is that our creative use of water will raise funds to help provide clean water around the world for those who do not have access to it 🙂. Enjoy our “water” so that countless others can enjoy water too!” – from their Facebook page
When you donate, you are donating toward covering their expenses, and then any donations over that cost will be used to provide clean water in Africa or other countries in need. There are donation links here.
There is also an indoor market called “Brave the BRR – Brrzzar” in the building there, with various vendors each weekend.
When I visited, there were soaps, lamps, snacks, and various other crafts and jewelry items.
These smelled wonderful…
Be sure to stop by the entrance table for information and some stickers and even lightbulbs.
There are also food trucks outside which are different every day.
And there’s a gnome search!
It’s a fun, free community event!
There’s info and more pictures on the Bartz Brothers Facebook page.
