Cats and coffee. Furballs and caffeine. What could go together better?
We visited both locations of Cafe Meow in the Twin Cities – Roseville and New Hope. Both are similar in most ways. They’re in a shopping center, they have a cafe side and a cat room side with a couple dozen cats, and the experience is the same.
Both times we visited, we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday with her friends. What a purrfect way to celebrate a birthday!
The Cafe Meow is full of cuddly cats – some that are actively playing, some are sleeping, and some are just exploring. The cats are available for adoption and love the attention from everyone.
The price is $10 an hour in weekdays, $15 an hour on weekends.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-5pm you can visit the cats for a discount- $3.50 for 15 minutes or $7 for a half hour.
Kids must be 7 or older. Kids 6 and younger are allowed with groups though.
The cafe has many coffee drinks with cute feline names like:
- The Cafe Meow
- Calico
- Sassy Cat
- Siamese
- Purrsian
- Meowza
- Burmese
- Catnip
Some of the drink varieties change by season.
I had a Meowza which was really good – it had expresso, plus honey and vanilla. I had cinnamon added to it so it was like a Miel (Miel almost sounds like Meow, right?)
There are also snacks like T-Rex Cookies, which I do highly recommend.

The cafe room is big enough in both places to sit with friends or on your own, playing games (provided). You can also sit and watch the cats from here.

If you want to interact with the cats though, be sure to pay for time in the cat room. And yes – you can bring your drinks in here! They will even bring you your drink if you order then go in the cat room during your reserved time.
All the cats are unique – and this one, at the Roseville location, even had two different colored eyes!
There are plenty of cozy places for kitties to climb and lounge here.
It was such a fun place for my daughter and her friends!
They do have rules – for example, you can’t pick up the cats. But if they come to you it’s ok for them to sit with you.

Events
There are events throughout the year at the Cafe Meow – like Cat Yoga. Check out their websites and schedules!
Birthday parties and other events
You can rent out the whole cat room – and this is the only way kids under 7 can go in the cat room.
They even have cat cupcakes you can special order. We wanted to but didn’t order in time.
Our Thoughts
It’s a fun place that cat lovers definitely should visit! There are so many cats and different personalities. We wanted to take them all home!
If you don’t drink coffee, no worries – they have tea, milk, and other drinks. My daughter and her friends had hot chocolate.
The cost is reasonable – if you can, go during their weekday afternoon times when it’s cheaper. But the cost isn’t bad otherwise.
