I love it when a museum offers free admission and this is a good one!
The Minnesota History Center in St. Paul is offering FREE admission for everyone on Saturday, December 9th, 2023.
This is a great opportunity to visit their new exhibits including:
The Life & Art of Charles Schulz
Everyone has heard of Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. Did you know the creator is Charles Schulz from Minnesota?
Explore Schulz’s personal history and his role as the inspiration and artistic talent behind Peanuts and its beloved cast of characters. Follow Schulz from his Minnesota roots to his life in California and track the development of the characters that make up the unique world of Peanuts.
Our Home: Reframing Our Stories
From a decades-old box of photographs simply labeled “Indians,” came the idea for a powerful new exhibit. Inside the box were dozens of pictures of Native community members, organizations, activities, and events that are relevant today. Now in the hands of Indigenous community members, those photos have new meaning.
Also see their exhibit “Our Home: Native Minnesota”
View historic and contemporary photographs, maps, and artifacts and learn how Minnesota’s Native communities have retained cultural practices, teachings and values, and an essential connection to home.
There is so much for kids here too – their “Then Now Wow” exhibit is fun for kids of all ages, and check out “Grainland” where kids can climb and slide through the chutes of a model grain elevator.
This free day is made possible by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota – thank you, Blue Cross Blue Shield!
In conjunction with this free day, items from Blue Cross Blue Shield’s recently unearthed 1951 and 1970 time capsules will be available to view in the first-floor History Center rotunda. (How cool is that!?)
Other ways to save on admission here
