October is one of my favorite months of the year because of the cool, crisp air, pumpkin everything, and Halloween events and fall festivals galore! Here I’ve rounded up fun events you can enjoy with your family in the Twin Cities. Many are free, some are at cost (but so worth it!). All items are free (to my knowledge) unless specified. Be sure to check in advance to verify and for any updates.

Rocky’s Pumpkin Patch. 10:00am – 1:00pm. Sand Creek Park, Minneapolis. Bring the kids to Sand Creek Park for a day of trick or treating and fall fun. Learn about local organizations that serve youth in the Coon Rapids community like athletic associations, clubs, volunteer groups and more. A free event that brings together the best of Plymouth’s Parks and Recreation, Police, and Fire departments, Halloween at the Lake features attractions such as inflatables, food trucks, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin golf, bingo, an apple launcher and treat stations, while supplies last. The event will also include public safety vehicles for children to view, as well as a sensory station for hands-on fun.

Trick or Treat Owatonna! 11:00am – 1:00pm. Downtown Owatonna (about 1 hour south of the Twin Cities). We’re so excited for this year’s Trick-or-Treat extravaganza! Head to downtown Owatonna with your trick-or-treat bags ready to fill and check out the beautiful streetscape prioject’s progress!
Halloween Cub Kids Event. 11:00am – 2:00pm. The Village of Blaine Shopping Center, Blaine.
A Haunting We Will Go! 11:30am – 3:00pm. Village Of Yesteryear, Owatonna. Free fund for the whole family. Dress in your favorite costume and come for some trick-or-treating. There will also be craft activities and stories.
Halloween Extravaganza. 12:00 – 4:00pm. 8946 70th St S, Cottage Grove. Let’s celebrate Halloween at Dodge Nature Center’s Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove! Trick-or-treat through the woods, ride on the hay wagon to look for ghosts and goblins, and meet slithery creatures. Try your luck at field games to win extra treats, then settle in for some silly science skits that will educate and entertain. Food will be available for purchase while you are enjoying the fall fun. Cost: Preregister online for $8 per person before 12 p.m. on October 27. Tickets at the gate are $10 per person. Children ages 2 and under are free!
Trunk or Treat. 1:00 – 3:00pm. Real Life Church – Roseville, 2353 Chatsworth St N, Roseville. On October 28 from 1-3pm in the main parking lot (off of Grandview Ave), everyone of all ages is invited to enjoy this fun fall event, so bring friends and family! No signup is needed! Come in costume if you’d like, and make sure to bring something to carry your candy.
Grande Day Parade. 1:00 – 3:30pm. Anoka Main St, Anoka. The parade starts at 1 pm at State Street and Main Street. Route follows Main Street to 5th Avenue and finishes at South Street/ Military Road. The parade length is 1.5 miles long.
TRUNK OR TREAT. 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Willow Tree Winery, Ham Lake. Free to families, there will be hayrides, food trucks and lots of candy! This event is weather permitting.
Halloween Spooktacular. 1:00 – 4:00pm. Harriet Alexander Nature Center, Roseville. Spook-tacular guarantees family fun for all. Join in on spooky crafts, a barrel train, food trucks and a Trunk-or-Treat by Calvary Church Youth. Event fee is $8.00 per child participants ages 1+. Adults and children under the age of 1 are free. Friendly, costumed characters hand out treats along our paved prairie loop trail. Perfect for preschoolers & early elementary children with adults. $7.50/child; $3.50/adult. Registration required. Start times: 3, 3:20, 3:40 or 4 p.m. Activities take approximately 75 minutes to complete.

Come dressed in costume and walk around the campground, play some games and win prizes in this trunk-or-treat style event! The campsites will be decorated, and you can vote for the best-decorated site. There will be a photo booth, tractor ride and more! When done you can warm up by the campground office with warm cider, bonfires, and snacks.
