Here’s a fun, cheap way to enjoy your Sunday this weekend – see a movie for only $4!
National Cinema Day is back on Sunday, August 27th, 2023, and you can get movie tickets for only $4 each.
Last year the Cinema Foundation announced the first National Cinema Day with discounted admissions for all movies at participating U.S. theatres including right here in the Twin Cities. Due to its success last year, it’s back this year!
There are more than 3,000 participating locations with more than 30,000 screens across the country, and this event will feature new titles, independent films, summer blockbusters (like Barbie!), and exclusive new content that can only be seen in theaters.
On Sunday, August 27th only, dozens of movies in all formats at all participating theaters will be no more than $4, including:
- New films like Gran Turismo, Golda, The Hill, Retribution, and Bottoms
- Current hits like Blue Beetle, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Sound of Freedom
- Recent family hits like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Disney’s The Little Mermaid Sing-Along
- Classic re-releases like Jurassic Park (3D), American Graffiti, Lady Bird, and Oldboy
In the Twin Cities, theatres like AMC, Mann Theatres, Marcus Theatres and Alamo Drafthouse are participating, among many others.
For example, National Cinema Day at Marcus Theatres and Movie Taverns includes:
- $4 admission, any movie, any Marcus Theatres screen.
- $3 regular-sized fountain drinks
- $3 hot dogs
- $3 Samuel Adams Seasonal beer (where available)
