I’m always on the hunt for things to do that are both unique AND free…and the 4th annual Kites on Ice Festival in Buffalo, Minnesota definitely fits this perfectly!
Buffalo is about 45 minutes west of the Twin Cities, and they’re hosting their Kites on Ice Festival on Saturday, February 12th from 11:00am – 3:00pm.
You’ll be able to watch experienced show kite flyers from Minnesota and the Midwest, showing off their skills with kites of all kinds.
But that’s not all – there will be food, hot chocolate, shopping, and kids get FREE kites while supplies last!
Here are some highlights:
- Fly your own kite (free)
- Dog Sled Rides (free)
- Free kites for kids (while supplies last)
- Kick Sled demonstration (free)
- Kid’s ice fishing (free)
- Paint in the snow (free)
- Food trucks
- Beer garden
- Cornhole tournaments
- Live DJ
- KRWC 1360 AM Roadshow
- More!!
It’s all happening on Buffalo Lake and Sturges Park.
Plus there’s more happening in Buffalo this weekend – there’s an open house at the Community Center from 10:00am – 3:00pm! You can stop by there at 10:00am and then head over to the kite festival afterward.
