Free National Park Admission
On Monday, January 16th, you can get FREE entry to national parks. It’s one of 5 fee-free days this year:
- January 17: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- April 16: First day of National Park Week
- August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- September 24: National Public Lands Day
- November 11: Veterans Day
Though there is only national park in Minnesota – Voyageurs National Park in northern Minnesota – there are 400 across the nation that are free.
Take a Kid Ice Fishing and Fish for FREE in Minnesota
This weekend, January 15- 17 – coinciding with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend – it’s Take A Kid Ice Fishing Weekend!
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are encouraging families to try out ice fishing together – for free!
Minnesota residents can fish or spear fish for free when accompanied by a child age 15 or under.
Kids are always free but this weekend, adults are free too when they take a kid fishing with them.
