The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is such a beautiful place, and it will be even more beautiful this winter as it gets all lit up for the holidays!
It’s called Winter Lights, and it’s from November 18th through January 2nd.
It’s Mondays – Thursdays 5:00 – 9:00pm, and Fridays – Sundays 5:00 – 10:00pm.
Opening night is November 18th, though that is already sold out.

Here are special nights happening:
- Opening Night with a lighting ceremony (sold out)
- Photography Nights on Dec. 1 & 8
- Family Nights on Dec. 2 & 9
- Date Night on Dec. 16
- New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31.
Dress warm as it’s all outside – there are 16 outdoor light displays, featuring flowers, nature and winter fun, on an accessible, stroller-friendly walk that’s just over a half-mile.
Highlights:
S’mores! Warm up midway through the walking tour at a bonfire and roast marshmallows over the fire — s’mores packages will be for sale.
Artist Jennifer Hedberg’s luminescent ice sculptures will also be part of the display.
There’s shopping! Their popular Gift and Garden Store will be open each general admission night. On Friday & Saturday, Dec. 10 -11 you will also be able to shop at their December Gift Market until 9 p.m. each night.
Food! The Arboretum Cafe will be open from 5-9 p.m. offering snacks, sandwiches, salads, desserts and a hot entree (see FAQs for menu details). The Cafe will not be open for Photographer’s Nights. Snacks and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) can be purchased at bars in the Great Hall and Carlson Dining Room. S’mores packs will be for sale near the bonfires between the Wilson Rose Garden and Home Demonstration Garden.
Music! Reserve your early evening ticket on one of their Winter Music Series nights and enjoy seasonal tunes before strolling light displays.
Note that they have a bus that will take guests from the Southwest Transit East Creek Transit Station at 2120 Chestnut St. N., Chaska, directly to the Arboretum.
Cost?
Tickets cost $10 for members, $15 for non-members, free for children ages 15 and younger.
