Snapology is one of the best places we’ve visited in the Twin Cities. So much that I included it in my guide “Hidden Gems in the Twin Cities for Families.” Plus, my son had a fabulous birthday party there! (Read all about it here.)
What is Snapology?
Snapology is an indoor play center with LEGO® building toys and activities. They have interactive and educational play of all kinds.
They have over 150 locations nationwide including one right here in Minneapolis that opened just a few years ago.
There are also other sites around the Twin Cities that host Snapology events including schools.

But unfortunately, like many indoor play places, they had to close temporarily due to COVID-19.
However, Snapology is still open online! Plus, some in-person events are now happening!

Camps
In addition to offering virtual programs year-round, Snapology is now offering play-based S.T.E.A.M. summer camps online. And unlike many others, they include fun movement breaks and long format content so kids stay engaged and active all day. They have 1, 2, and 3-hour programs to meet all needs.
Some of the camps include:
Weekly Virtual Fun-Tastic LEGO Class
Weekly Virtual STEM Lab
FULL DAY IN PERSON Super Structures & Castles, Kingdoms & Wizards Camp
Super Structures Architecture AM Camp
Castles, Kingdoms & Wizards PM Camp
Brick City Virtual Workshop (inspired by LEGO City)
Planes, Trains, Automobiles and LEGO® City! AM Camp
Kinderbots Robotics Camp
And so many more!
Classes
Snapology co-founder and CEO Laura Coe says, “Social development is one of our core principals at Snapology, so we knew any online program had to incorporate a social element. We thought about streaming classes online but determined that a small class would benefit students more and allow us to hold true to our core values.”
In addition to classes, Snapology offers private virtual playdates and birthday parties.

Virtual birthday parties? How do they work?
To have a virtual playdate or birthday party, families can reserve a time and share the event with friends. Then families are sent a private link to join the event where a Snapology instructor leads the children in fun STEAM themed activities.
What a great option for children who had to cancel in-person birthday parties at the last minute!
