*Update: EatPakd is no longer available.*
Recently I attended a Twin Cities Moms Blog event for social influencers/bloggers to introduce us and our kids to EatPakd, kid-approved, ready-to-eat meals that are delivered to your door. It was an awesome event with yummy samples (like these turkey wraps!) and fun at InnerActive Playground in Minnetonka. Lots of healthy fun for everybody!
EatPakd is a new kids’ meal subscription service based in Chicago that has now expanded its delivery coverage to areas like the Twin Cities (yay!). It was co-founded by Kara O’Dempsey, Rebecca Sholiton and Nate Cooper who wanted to help busy families feed their families wholesome, healthful food.
Designed to be a healthier, fresher alternative to convenient but not-so-healthy pre-packaged foods for kids, EatPakd saves families a lot of time, hassle and worry.
EatPakd also sent my family some meals in the mail to try at home.
We received four paks – the Pizzadilla Pak, the Aloha Pak by Darla, and two Custom Paks. They arrived at our doorstep in a cool, insulated box that kept them fresh, and the plastic containers were fresh-sealed.
I liked that all the ingredients were listed on the packaging as well.
All of the food arrived fresh and ready-to-eat. Each included a treat too.
I tried the paks with my kids. The foods were simple, tasty foods that most kids like, and some foods were great for introducing to younger kids, like bite-sized cucumbers and small celery sticks with sunbutter.
As a mom, I liked the wholesome ingredients, and the variety and kid-friendly options. The foods were good-for-you, natural and appealing to all. The “pizza quesadillas” were a fun and easy to eat “main entree.”
EatPakd offers many other varieties and the menu changes every 2 weeks, so your kids will never get bored. You can view the current available paks and past paks on their website.
My final thoughts?
I like the convenience, the variety, and the freshness of EatPakd. And I like that it’s ready to grab and go – so you can take it anywhere or pack it in a school lunch (making your kids the envy of their peers!). But I think the price is a bit high, and personally, I felt it was a lot of packaging for the amount of food you get, when you count everything together. But if you compare it to the convenient, fresh packaged kids meals at the grocery store, the price is comparable, and it does save time and makes feeding your kids wholesome foods easier.
