Recently I enjoyed the most luxurious, relaxing pedicure at My Salon Suite in Roseville.
My Salon Suite is unique in that it’s a community of highly qualified, established beauty service professionals including hairstylists, massage therapists and nail technicians. Each professional has their own suite and business, and runs their business completely independently. I love this concept because it gives each professional complete freedom to do what they love, with complete control over their schedule and business.
I had the wonderful experience of getting pampered by Imogene Kaufman, who owns Secret Spa Garden, LLC, in Suite 103.
Imogene has been in the industry for over 20 years, and loves to pamper people with facials, manicures, pedicures, and waxing – including her specialty, a relaxing brow wax!
A busy mom herself with a 5-year-old special needs son, Imogene right away recognized the desperate “take care of me – I’m a mom!” look on my face when I first arrived. This assured me I was in the right place, and I got comfortable in her massage chair (yes, I got a pedicure while getting a chair massage!). Then she offered me a heated neck wrap (um, yes, please), and whatever music I liked. I chose new age music and she played a new age variety station which was very relaxing. She also offered me a beverage, including a glass of wine! (I reluctantly passed on the wine since it was early in the day and had things to do afterward, but that sounded like a wonderful reason to come back for an evening appointment…)
While getting a warm foot soak (and enjoying the chair massage and heated neck wrap), I picked out my nail polish color from dozens of choices next to me. I decided to be festive and picked a sparkly holiday red color. Then Imogene scrubbed and polished my tired feet and even gave me a hot stone massage, which I had never had before and was great. Throughout she made sure I was comfortable by asking if the temperature was ok and if I needed anything.
An hour later, I think my whole body was completely relaxed (which I think you can see in this picture), and I didn’t want to go!
The pedicure ended with my getting some paper flip-flops to let the nail polish dry and then I sat 15 minutes in the waiting area before putting my shoes on.
Imogene also works with a massage therapist to offer massage services, in addition to the massage she offers during facials, manicures and pedicures. Plus, she’s offering a great special through the end of this month – get a $60 gift certificate for $50!
