Shoppers at the SuperTarget in Roseville will get a fun experience in-store December 11th – 14th. I got a sneak peak and am anxious to share what you can expect!
Target has partnered with Google to offer a new and unique interactive, in-store mobile experience that will be fun for all ages this holiday season.
Bullseye’s Playground is a mobile game experience that features Target’s bull terrier mascot Bullseye and other characters. Anyone can use their mobile devices to access Bullseye’s Playground, both in and out of stores.
All you have to do is visit Target.com/Play on your mobile device to play six interactive games, including sledding, ice fishing, snowball fights and more!
At your local Target store you can find in-store signage that prompts you to play and discover special codes throughout the store, unlocking characters and new game levels. And just for playing you can make a difference: For every game played with Bullseye’s Playground, Target will donate $1 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – up to $1 million!
Plus, in select Target stores, including the Roseville Target, shoppers will have a unique opportunity to be immersed in Bullseye’s Playground using Google’s new Project Tango Development Tablet. This tablet transforms the store into a 3D winter playground.
I had the opportunity to try this out in the Roseville store this week.
Starting on December 11th, there will be a display where you can “check out” a tablet to experience Bullseye’s Playground – FREE (and there will be team members there to help!).
I used my tablet to navigate through a winter playground that took me from the entrance to the back of the Christmas decorations. I walked through the aisles of the store and on the tablet followed Bullseye through icy paths where I met a shy reindeer, had a snowball fight with bunnies (yes, you can throw snowballs in the game!), played a xylophone made out of icicles and finally defeated Zoomer Dino at the end! I can’t wait to try it out with my kids this weekend – I know they’ll love it and have so much fun!
The whole experience was easy to follow (be careful to stay on the path!) and I could definitely seeing it take off with parents and kids. It’s very child-friendly but will appeal to all ages. And the experience only lasts about 10 minutes so busy parents won’t be sidetracked from their shopping too long. And what’s neat is there will be 15 tablets available (plus a number of “brand ambassadors” that will help people along the way), but if they’re all being used at once, shoppers can sign up for the next available tablet and have a “buzzer” (like you get when you wait at a restaurant) that will alert you when one is available for you.
Super Target in Roseville is actually only one of four Target stores across the nation that will experience these Project Tango Development Tablets and I think people trying it out will really enjoy it!
So check it out at Super Target, 1515 County Road B W, Roseville, MN from December 11 –14th, 2014 from 11:00am – 7:00pm each day.
