Last month I introduced you to Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolates, a chocolate company started by Marie Cavanaugh in 1972. It all began in South Dakota with her aunt’s pecan-rolls recipe, and grew into a Utah-based company that has sold millions of pounds of chocolates since!
I got to try some of these chocolates at home with my family: Four chocolate bars and a box of milk chocolates.
The candy bars were: Mindy Mint, Caramel, White Chocolate Almond Coconut and Dark Chocolate Almond.
My daughter and I split the Mindy Mint bar – Oh. My. Gosh. It was the BEST chocolate mint bar I’ve tried. And I’m a chocolate mint snob – no two flavors go together better so when I have it it HAS to be good. My daughter loved it too.
My mom tried the Dark Chocolate Almond bar. She loved it so much she kept saying afterward “Mmmm…I don’t want to lose the taste in my mouth!” So guess what I did? Tomorrow’s her birthday so I ordered her a 4-pack of them.
The Caramel and the White Chocolate Almond Coconut candy bars were equally as decadent, as were the boxed milk chocolates.
What’s more fun than a box of mixed chocolates? The variety was wonderful and the chocolate was so RICH. This makes an excellent gift or just something to enjoy at a family event.
You might wonder how this chocolate could be any better than the Russell Stover chocolates you can buy at the store.
Let me just tell you that the store bought chocolates pale in comparison to Mrs. Cavanaugh’s. One thing I noticed about Mrs. Cavanaugh’s chocolates was how fresh the chocolate tasted, like we just picked it up at the factory (they do offer tours at their factory in Utah).
Plus, I have a great deal to share – right now you can buy one pound and get one pound of chocolate FREE!
Visit Mrs. Cavanaugh’s website here and use the code USFAMILY2014 when you purchase a box to get one free.
(Disclosure: I received complimentary chocolate in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.)
