I received a PR email with information about National Get Outdoors Day, a new annual, family event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun sponsored nationally by OFF!® It sounds super fun!
This Saturday, June 14 from 12-4 pm, Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis is celebrating National Get Outdoors Day by inviting area residents to try canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, roast marshmallows, play camp games, go geocaching, fishing, birding, make nature crafts, try archery, mountain biking, kids’ outdoor activities, climbing wall, food, music and more!
Rain or shine, come out to Powderhorn Park and have some fun outside. Powderhorn Park is located at 3400 15th Ave S., Minneapolis and is easily accessible by bus or bicycle (REI bike technicians will be on hand to do a free safety check on all bikes at the event.) Plenty of parking is also available on side streets.
Prime goals of the day are reaching first-time visitors to public lands and reconnecting our youth to the great outdoors.
And, you can also enter for a chance to win a new Trek® bike sponsored by OFF!®
#GODay is an outgrowth of the Get Outdoors USA! campaign, which encourages Americans, especially our youth, to seek out active outdoor lives and embrace our parks, forests, refuges and other public lands and waters.
