The days have been getting warmer so yesterday we headed to Rosebrook Park in Roseville where I heard there’s a popular wading pool for families with little kids. The park is right behind Rosedale Mall in a quiet neighborhood south of County Road C.
We went in the evening and found a few other families with little kids cooling off in the very blue, chlorinated and refreshing water. The water depth is only 1 foot 3 inches throughout, so it’s ideal for little ones just learning how to swim.
Our kids enjoyed it, especially Heidi, who played with another girl there until she left, and then splashed around for a good 20 minutes after Thor got chilly.
The water itself was lukewarm. Comfortable enough to just go right in. Some adults were wading in the water with their kids. In the park there’s also a playground, tennis courts, and a field.
The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board operates 65 wading pools, and there are many more in the Twin Cities area including this one. There are also many splash pads where kids can run through sprinklers and more! All for free! We’ll definitely be checking out more free water fun in the Twin Cities area.
