Earlier this year I won a giveaway on another mom’s blog. It was for a one year subscription to ABCMouse.com. My kids and I had seen commercials for ABCMouse and I had considered trying it out with them. I was so excited to win a one year subscription to fully experience all that ABCMouse had to offer!
Now, ABCMouse has provided a one year subscription for me to give away right here at Twin Cities Frugal Mom! I am happy to share what ABCMouse is all about and give one of you the opportunity to enjoy it with your own child or children.
What is ABCMouse.com? It’s a subscription-based website where kids can learn educational basics like reading, math and music.
It’s designed for kids from ages 2 through 6 years old (Preschool through Kindergarten age) and has age-specific levels with appropriate games and activities. It even teaches young kids how to use a computer mouse in a simple and fun way that my 3-year-old wanted to do again and again!
When you login to ABCMouse.com your child can create an avatar for him/herself with features just like him or her, or whatever he/she chooses.
Then your child will begin in the classroom where he or she can pick from dozens of lessons. There’s an interactive map where your child can visit a zoo, a farm and more.
When kids complete each lesson, they can earn “tickets” (which make a really cool sound that kids get excited to hear!). These tickets can be redeemed for various things.
For example, on the interactive map kids can click on “My Room” and buy furniture and decorations for their own room, and there’s a fish tank option as well where kids can buy different kinds of fish and fish tank accessories.
Earning and redeeming these tickets is one of my kids’ favorite things! It helps motivate them to complete more activities and lessons so they can earn more.
There are more than 5,000 interactive learning activities and more than 450 lessons, with new features and activities continually being added.
One thing I really like is there’s a Parents Homepage that you have to use your password to log into and there you can customize your children’s experiences while tracking their progress.
I also really like that each time your child comes back to the site he or she is greeted by name: “Welcome back, Thor!”
Everything about ABCMouse is simple and fun. The graphics are bright and colorful, and the music is happy and original. It’s ideal for young kids as it’s not over-stimulating. The games and speed are just right. They’re not too fast or too busy as some other sites can be.
What’s also great is you don’t have to worry about anything your kids will see on ABCMouse.com. NO ads, NO links, and NO annoying pop-ups.
A subscription currently costs $7.95 a month or $79 for a full year, and at this time you can get your first month FREE.
My kids enjoy ABCMouse.com and sometimes they don’t want to stop! When they’re on the site I’ve found it helps to set time limits. ABCMouse is a great way to introduce your kids to computers and online games and activities because they’ll learn and have fun at the same time.
ABCMouse.com One Year Subscription GIVEAWAY: One lucky Twin Cities Frugal Mom reader will win a one year subscription to ABCMouse.com! A subscription includes all the kids in your household. This looks like it would be awesome for my kids. I like that they can add an avatar to look like them.
My son, who is four, loves visiting his friends bc they have abc mouse…we currently have the trial and are looking into getting a subscription for him bc it’s a great opportunity for a great price–my daughter will be entering first grade and while she’s now out if the target market she enjoys it as well.
I’d love to try this with my two youngest, as I have been looking for a program they could do that would challenge them.
My sister is an abcmouse subscriber and my daughter loves playing with it when over her house so I hope I we can win our own subscription! Thanks for the chance!
