What sounds better than homemade lasagna on a cold winter’s night?
Family-owned and family-run Red Gold is celebrating the comfort of lasagna this winter and are encouraging people to make their own homemade gourmet lasagna. Not only is homemade lasagna cheaper to make than store-bought-frozen brands, but you can stretch it out into multiple meals! A single recipe can serve up to 12.
To make it easy — because lasagna can sometimes be intimidating and tricky — Red Gold has put together a gift pack along with a base recipe for foolproof, “All-In-One” lasagna using dry noodles that cook as you bake, and is giving away a gift pack to one lucky Twin Cities Frugal Mom reader!
I received an “All-in-One” gift pack from Red Gold with Red Gold tomatoes, sauce, Creamette lasagna noodles, a spatula and recipes for different varieties of lasagna I could make with the gift pack. The varieties include Easy Classic Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan Lasagna, Fresh Harvest Lasagna, and Eggplant Florentine Lasagna. You can view the recipes on their website.
I made the Easy Classic Lasagna recipe with my daughter and it was super easy. After browning the meat, we mixed it with the sauces and then layered the lasagna. Heidi enjoyed this part, especially sprinkling on the cheese. It took an hour and 15 minutes to bake and turned out GREAT.
Red Gold’s basic lasagna recipe is a full-flavored lasagna that is layered together in just minutes with Red Gold tomatoes and three cheeses…. And of course you can add all kinds of things to it to make it your own gourmet lasagna — meat, veggies, etc.
Red Gold has been around since the 1940s focused on growing local in the Midwest (Ohio, Michigan and Indiana), where true seasons positively impact the flavor of tomatoes.
ALSO – right now Red Gold is hosting a Lasagna Party on Facebook through February 5th. During this promotion you can have the chance to win either one of 3,000 Red Gold Aprons or three $250 Red Gold Lasagna Kits which includes a Red Gold custom apron and spatula, a Garfield plush toy, a Le Creuset lasagna pan, and a $25 gift card. They also have tips and recipes including a Crock Pot lasagna recipe I’m anxious to try!
